I was searching high and low for laptop and finally decide to go with Lenovo Y450 which comes with the nVidia GeForce G110M 256MB graphic card and Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium for RM2,999.

I tried comparing other brands of laptops (asides Acer / Asus cause I really dislike them) and find that no other models come close to this price or even comparable to this specs.

Anyone here using the Y450 already? How do you like it? I plan to get it this week. Any comments?

G110M is rated as a class 3 GC on notebookcheck yawn.gif but I suppose for that price it's NOT BAD. There is the ASPIRE 4937G-874G32MN. I think I saw a flyer in Sungei Wang selling a similar model for 2,999. The GC on that's way better..

I totally am against Acer / Asus so any other brand works for me.

astria,
Thanks for the recommendation. Went to Dell website and saw the Studio 15 (S510224MY) with Radeon HD4570 for RM3099. Good deal!

Yep, the Dell Studio is really popular because it's like middle ground between Inspiron and XPS. I'd recommend you get the 9 Cell battery. The 15.6" screen is really attractive too. The graphic card should be decent enough for medium quality games.

Wow wow... thanks a lot guys! smile.gif

I heard that it has heating problems? A normal laptop cooler can help cool it? How much does one cost anyway? My last laptop is the Fujitsu S7011 and since then I've only been using HP's Nc6220, Nc4400, 6910p (belongs to the office).

Never own a Dell laptop before. Anyway, this laptop is for my dad. He doesnt do gaming so this GPU may be too good for him but this suit his budget nicely at RM3099. I will get another for my own in the near future. Any other recommendations besides this? One for gaming but around this price. I dont do FPS, only RTS.

imo, coolers dun help much... i ve one from AC Ryan, but temp diff is not a lot...

for Studio 15, i still recommend to get a dedicated GPU as it will help not juz in gaming, but also like HD videos...

as for gaming laptop, i would suggest BenQ S42, rm3599, comes with C2D P8700, GeForce 9600M GT, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, hybrid graphic, 14"...
