hmm, what you guys think about the toshiba 2599 laptop?is it a good deal?
Can it do some light gaming? It has Intel Integrated 4500MHD....

Whats the difference between intergrated graphics and Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator?
*
integrated graphic means the graphic controller is built into the mobo northbridge and most needs to share some system RAM for fram buffer, as oppose to dedicated graphic which is a card by itself, and has it's own RAM for frame buffer

Intel GMA is 1 of the type of integrated graphic avaliable in the market, other choices are AMD-ATi's Radeon HD 3200 (eg Compaq CQ40) and Nvidia GeForce 9400M (eg Dell Studio XPS 13, Macbook)

how is Lenovo G430?? is it gud?

Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5800 (2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache)
4GB DDR2 SDRAM
250GB SATA HDD (5400rpm)
14" WXGA with VibrantView
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500

jz for studying and light gaming..

imo, the CPU is a bit old... it's still a 65nm Merom iirc...

try find one with 45nm Penryn instead, such as C2D T6000 series...

jhow abt BenQ R47???

QUOTE(The Silent Killer @ Apr 22 2009, 02:49 AM)
hey there ppl i google-ed up alot of info regarding graphics cards since im getting a lappie for travelling n gaming as well...

im considering dell studio 15 (with ati mobility 4570 GC), as it is the best laptop that i can go for with my budget which is around 3k. but despite the fact that some of my frens claimed dell is not be able to last long, it turns me down, cos im looking for a lappie which can last for roughly 4 yrs.

n now im considering toshiba m300-s411(ati mobility 3450) or the hp pavilion dv3611 (nvidia 9300m gs) both has the same class GC (class 3)...but which brand has more durability n performance? i heard more ppl saying toshiba, but the hp pavilion design is vr tempting to me tongue.gif

im having dilemma here for which laptop to get...i wan to go for a longer lasting + good performance laptop which will be able to last me for few yrs, without giving me tonnes of unwanted troubles (like what acer did to me)

oh yeah considering asus F81Se too...it's 14" n it has 4570..but what about the quality of the laptop?

advice wanted
*
i think it's unfair to judge how long a laptop can use by the brands... any brand of notebook maybe prone to problems and u never know until u use it... imo, most laptops should be able to last for 3 yrs before technology is much more advanced and needs a change...

in terms of durabilty, u can always go for business laptops, which are really designed to last...

anyway, from wat i gathered in this forum, Dell has pretty good after sales service, so i dun think u need to worry abt it...

imho..

between Asus and Acer, i would choose Asus because of the better quality and warranty, so out goes Acer

between Asus and Dell, the Rm200 extra u get:
1) Better CPU
2) Vista HP instead of Vista HB
3) larger HDD
4) double the RAM
5) larger monitor
6) 1 yr less of int'l warranty

if warranty is not priority, i would choose Dell...

astria whats the price of BenQ R47?

Is benq long lasting?
*
currently using BenQ's S41, besides the GPU problem (8600M GS), which isn't BenQ's fault anyway, i am very satisfied with it... never break down or anything for the past 1.5yr...

go to the BenQ Performance Thread to ask if u want to know more or gather more opinions...

and wat i like BenQ best is that it's price-performance ratio is even higher than Asus and Acer, while offering quality products...

as for the price, last i hear is abt RM2.3k, comes with C2D T6600 and 9300M GS...

if f81se compare to M300-S411, f81se clearly has the upper hand in terms of performance, but toshiba has more solid build + harman kardon speaker, n i like the design more....

just 1 question, if play games like L4D, crysis eg, 3470 vs 4570 makes a big difference? cos 1 is class 2 n 1 is class 3

Added on April 22, 2009, 6:50 pm

just go garage sales or lowyat plaza to hunt la...stop being lazy n do some homework before asking here dude....
benq was a sub company of acer last time...i dun fancy acer, so does benq
*
well, all i can say abt BenQ is that it's definetely much better than Acer in terms of quality and performance...

try find a laptop that can match BenQ's S42 or S57 spec at the same price pt...
