If you pay using Paypass, the transaction is processed fast compared to conventional swipe. I don't think it's matter.

QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Mar 28 2009, 12:35 PM) Actually if you already have 1 or 2 cards which has astronomical limits ie. which already maxed out your perceived financial capability then all subsequent cards will probably come with lower limits, or even rejections in a worst case scenario Come to think of it, i don't really mind the lower limit. From another angle, they are giving me 2.2x of the old limit they gave me when I prviously held their card 2 years ago. It is the total package that matters, plus the cash rebates that this card is supposedly to be providing. Will be using trying out the card and see how it goes.Good experience then keep, bad then cancel the card. |

Personally I like the concept of Paypass/VisaWave, it's convenient. But yea, it's annoying when they don't seem to know how to operate it.

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Mar 28 2009, 09:07 PM) To a certain extent you are right about it. I try my best to use my credit card in place of cash coz at least I get points for my spendings. And from my observations, it's not just the cashier - probably the whole place and staff are not used to their customers using cc thus they don't make an effort to educate the cashier on how to use the system nor their supervisor bothers. For example, KFC has been a cash outlet for so many years and suddenly they allow customers to use credit card. If the cashier is having problems with the paypass 1. Best scenario, they will slot in the card into the cc machine and you need to sign the slip. (Sometimes the Paypass version also they ask to sign, I don't blame them coz it's likely their supervisor who gave the instruction) 2. They try to slot the card in the machine, something goes wrong and they ask you to pay in cash after a few tries. Likely that you will see that there's only 1 machine working in the entire store. Suddenly all the other machines are not working ? 3. The worst if they will just take the easy way out and say that the machine is out of order but actually it is working just fine. Burger King outlet accepts cc as well (I go to the one in KLCC). Machines used to be working well and then only 1 works. Now they just tell me that the machine is not working at the moment and it has been the case for many weeks already. I just can't believe they think that customers are that stupid and this is one of the examples of bad habits within the Malaysian services industry. |

For the paypass card, just want to mention, my CIMB Petronas card got a paypass sign at the back of the card, should be put at the front, like Maybank Petronas, even sometimes the cashier says this can't be used coz no paypass sign
@hye This promotion sounds like the 2x points offered by Maybank AMEX credit card, but the spending criteria is too high. This post has been edited by aeronlim: Mar 29 2009, 10:33 AM |

It will end up as one of those hype unless something is done to address the execution problems.@hye This promotion sounds like the 2x points offered by Maybank AMEX credit card, but the spending criteria is too high. Yeah I agree the spending criteria for HSBC is too high. In these troubled times, you want people to spend RM7.5k just to get extra points ? Gotta be kidding, I rather go for cc products which give me cash rebates. |
