I have been asking the same question. So, I did some research & found a couple of brand that people recommend.
Just last week I went to eCurve & got a pair of Columbia.
This morning I put it on a field test & this is what I got:

The sole seem like going to come out soon, I'm not sure how long it can last but definitely doesn't seem that durable to me.
No doubt, the grip is okay (not as good as my Kampung Adidas) & it's very comfortable.

Can't you bring it back to the shop? I'm not sure, but I think there's warranty since it's just a week. Alternatively, find those roadside cobbler to add a layer of stitching. smile.gif

Yeah, it's so great that I'm chucking my Columbia's shoes aside. Although more often than not, I would get blisters on my feet. tongue.gif

I believe what they mean by warranty is, to cover manufacturing defect.
Which mean the fault has to be by the time I receive the shoe, which is not.
They can argue that it's due to user abuse, yada yada.
I'll just leave it as it is. Hope for the best that it don't get worse, which is very unlikely. :<
So far I been to quite a number of hike on my Adidas Kampung & I only got blister once, during Nuang trip couple of months back.
I think the reason I got blister is because I wet my socks during river crossing.
Other than that I only got toe sore.

I supposed. But when I bought my shoes that time, I did asked the salesperson if I could bring back the shoes if there's problem with it, and he said sure. My concern at that time was that the shoes I bought could be old-stock. I have this thinking whereby if the shoes are old-stock, they are more prone to kaput when you are breaking it. tongue.gif

Yup! I got it from Nuang and river trekking.

One of my uncle who goes hiking pretty regularly also said kampung adidas is the best for the price we're paying. May I know where can we get these shoes & does the seller recognize that name kampung adidas?

I've only did day trips to few places, feel like hiking more often & then probably try camping too.

I got mine from one of the LYN member.
Do take note the size though. Usually you'll have to go for few sizes smaller.
The seller will offer to bring a couple of pair for you to try.

Sometimes not every shop recognize Kampung Adidas term. Some refer them as Kasut Getah.

I know one place that sell them but it is located in PJ. Near PJ Old Town (not referring to the Old Town White Coffee Shop).

Somewhere near the bus station, opposite of Maybank.

Fellow sifus, need your opinion on this.

Is it advisable to climb with all the haze happening at the moment?
