QUOTE(zonan4 @ Sep 25 2009, 04:03 AM) hmmm so i need a digi number lol.... maybe tomorrow I will go and test... btw is it worth it the package? From my personal opinion, if you're a heavy internet user with average ~16GB usage per month and completely fine with 24 months contract (as many ppl is still questioning if Digi can sustain its BB service quality with the increase of subscribers) then i think the package is a good choice. Also, since you're also looking for a Netbook at this moment. One good thing about this package is the 3G modem is built in so it's much more convenient when you move around... I feel the USB modem stick is a bit inconvenience when i move around, you need to take care the modem so as not to hit by somebody or something accidentally. However, i believe the modem is supportable up to 3.6Mbps only... so a drawback for future upgrade. On simple calculation, RM138 X 24 = RM3312 (Total you pay for the package with 16GB monthly limit) * I learnt that there is no auto-billing rebate for this package. If you subscribe Explore package and buy a netbook separately: Explore package: RM73 X 12 (Assume you manage to get such a promotion package for first year with monthly auto-billing rebate, RM5) = RM876 (only 10GB monthly limit) RM103 X 12 (The package will go back to normal price after first year and after auto-billing rebate, RM5) = RM1236 (With only 10GB monthly limit) Total spend on Explore package for 24 months, RM876+RM1236 = RM2112 So, the netbook price will be RM3312 - RM2112 = RM1200... From the calculation, if you can get a netbook at <RM1200 and your monthly usage is always around 10GB, then this is not a package for you. For me, i will take the package if i'm looking for a netbook and a wireless BB now. As built-in modem is more convenient than the USB stick... (but, it's harder to remove the sim card from a built-in modem). However, the decision is still at your side. There are always good and bad point for every decision. Note: Most importantly, make sure your area is covered by Digi BB first. And of course, i'm not considering all the warranty issue in my calculation and you've no plan to share the broadband with a 3G router (as a router may need a USB modem) This post has been edited by ks98: Sep 25 2009, 08:28 AM |

in my opinion, unless you consistently need >10G of bandwidth per month and able to get the 78 or 88 per month package, i don't think it's very worth
if the 78 or 88 package doesn't get extended after the first year is up, i have the option and flexibility to switch to other service provider that gives the best package in addition, i have the flexibility to choose the netbook that i like, although most likely, it won't have the modem built-in |

hi guys, i finally managed get my digi bb extreme package to work....... hmm but it doesnt really impress me much compared to my previous streamyx 2mb. so far im getting only bout 1900-2000+kbps download frm speedtest, my rm77 streamyx package can do about 1800kpbs d/l.. zzzzz . nw testing torrent d/l , but still not much different than my streamyx. is there something wrong here? im seeing ppl getting 4-7mb connection frm this package, while im getting a lousy 2mb.
another question is, do u guys usually get faster connection after midnite? im also havnt cancel my current streamyx connection, so is it possible that i can combine both digi + streamyx to make my internet much faster for d/l n etc? This post has been edited by [gs]JackMin: Sep 25 2009, 07:57 PM |

No different at midnight. I can get 1MB average even at rainy day. 2. Cannot combine digi bb with streamyx. Computer will connect to internet which 1 come first. You will not able to get 2MB+2MB=4M at the same time. i notice that streamyx giving some customer 2MB even they are RM88/77 1MB at some area. This is bonus. My office is the one. I'm using streamyx 1MB RM88 also, and streamyx give me 1Mb only. Why you apply for digi extreme if you already streamyx? 2MB by streamyx is good enought for you at RM77. Maybe you travel a lot. If not, better apply upgrade to streamyx 4Mb, only RM160. But now you need to pay RM77+RM188 for both. Or maybe you will cancel streamyx later. Then you might need to buy 3G wifi modem for internet sharing. It cost another RM300-RM450. Anyway extreme package is HSUPA speed, you will get better upload speed. Digi BB user what is your comment? thinking of whether to switch or not. i hope that Digi can have some promotion that promote its existing customer of postpaid or prepaid customer to sign up this plan by giving them some discounts another question is, do u guys usually get faster connection after midnite? im also havnt cancel my current streamyx connection, so is it possible that i can combine both digi + streamyx to make my internet much faster for d/l n etc? |

after using digi extreme BB for 3 days.... wat i can say for me it sux compare to my current streamyx. mayb its my area, i dun knw but as much as i hate streamyx, i hv 2 admit it is more stable compare to digi.
i tried playin a couple online games n even hosted games like dota via gg or left4dead on steam server.. all performed very badly with loaads of dc n lag spikes. even when it tries 2 d/l files or update patch it sometimes jz stop there n i had 2 reconnect again. for torrenting.... sure it can hit 300+kpbs after midnite, but seriously with the 20gb cap hw many hd movies i can dl? i really dn knw why so much problems, as my house is listed in the 3g area. (ss18 subang jaya) also i ran some speedtest jz nw during 8-11pm, mostly it can oni reach 600-800kpbs and upload was 50-80kpbs... wtf? nw 5am, i did another speedtest which can hit 3000+kpbs d/l and upload 300+ kpbs. but still all the games i tried to play stil LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! ive alrdi call the digi ppl few times now, and i guesss i will be returning them the modem + cancel the package if they still cannot sort it out in this few days. |

I think the problem could be your area. Even my explore package can get better speeds than your extreme package. Here's my current explore package speedtest :-
![]() Maybe give it a few days for digi to try and fix it and if not, you can just terminate and go back to streamyx. But i hope digi can rectify the problem for you fast... This post has been edited by plateau: Sep 27 2009, 02:20 PM |

DIGI wireless broadband is superb! Previously using CELCOM wireless broadband basic package for RM68 (own modem) the speed is like dialing 1515. Now paying RM73 (free modem) for DIGI explore package, the speed is on par with my streamyx 1mbps line!
Btw, the sales person told me explore package is unlimited now. Means no additional usage charges after 10GB data limit just the speed will slow down only. Is this true? |

Now use home streamyx can play with no prob. Hope any user can give me suggestion or solution. Will try it as soon as i went back to KL. Thx. |

I wonder anyone has experience the same situation like mine.
I was using DGBB for a month and a half and was all fine. I live in Jln Ipoh, near Dynasty hotel area. My area is a non official 3G coverage area, but I've been receiving 3G signal from spillage of other 3G area i guess. The signal wasn't strong, was around 17% to 24%, but it was good enough for me to get a stable connection. And that was until 3 days go. I came back from work and suddenly discovered there wasn't anymore 3G signal, only down to EDGE. I called the DGBB customer support to relate my case to them. They said my area is not a 3G coverage area and there's nothing he can do about it. I told him to check my bandwidth usage as that would be a proof that I've been getting the 3G signal usage all these while. Also I told them, I manually search for the network with my modem and my phone, DG3G did show up, but my modem failed to register to the DG3G network. His reply was that he can't check my bandwidth and there's nothing he can do. He refused to open a case for me on the basis that my area is not in the official coverage area.. I'm so bloody pissed off rite now coz after a month of happy usage and recommending DGBB to ppl, this is what I got back in return. |
