I personally think that DIGI 3G broadband is the BEST after the alliances with TIME DOT COM.. As we know that TDC is the 100% fiber optic trunk network. From Penisular Malaysia to East Malaysia, direct fiber link to international route..(no need to go through telekom).. Therefore, DIGI 3G will be fully benefit of the infra..

Picture worth thousand word.. Look at the infra diagram

http://www.time.com.my/corporate/special_fibre.asp

TIME DOT COM infra

An Information Super Highway

Introducing Malaysia's most comprehensive fibre optic communications infrastructure, TIME's Information Super Highway, a project with a capital investment of over RM3.8 billion.

With regional fibre optic cables running along the major highways and complemented by submarine fibre optic cables along the coastlines, augmented where necessary with wireless, digital microwave and satellite connectivity, we can provide you with an advanced and reliable communication capability to suit your every need locally and internationally.
Regional fibre optic cables

Our land-based fibre optics stretch over 3,600 km in Peninsular Malaysia with lines criss-crossing the country and connecting into the main network along the 850 km North-South Expressway.
Submarine fibre optic cables

The submarine fibre optic cables totaling 1,624 km are laid along the coastline of Peninsular from Pulau Langkawi, Kedah to Kota Bharu, Kelantan connecting to 25 coastal sites.
Digital microwave and satellite

The digital microwave and satellite links cover remote places or areas not yet serviceable by our fibre optic cables.
International investment

We are currently providing access to over 240 countries and territories around the world. With investments in most Asian and Trans-Pacific cable systems as well as direct access to satellite facilities, we are able to offer international telecommunications services to carriers, resellers, multinational corporations and consumers in Malaysia and around the world.
Our international partners include:

* Optus and Telstra in Australia
* Hong Kong Telecom International in Hong Kong
* MCI in USA
* Indosat in Indonesia
* Kokusai Denshin Denwa (KDD) in Japan
* Jabatan Telekom Brunei in Brunei
* Philippines Long Distance Telephony (PLDT) in Philippines
* Singapore Telecom in Singapore
* Telephone Organisation of Thailand (TOT) in Thailand

Our international facilities include:

Is inter related la ... 3G or any internet service provider providing the first phase date transfer.. Eg.. TM Streamyx.. the 1st phase is ADSL modem through copper tel line.. Here.. 1st phase is 3G wireless technology.. 2nd phase, 3G data will reach DIGI nearest tower station.. Then, the data is transfer via LAND line(in here will be TIME DOT COM fiber optic backbond that cover the entire peninsular ), 3rd.. will route through

TIME DOT COM direct service

Two world class international gateway switches (ATT5ESS)
* Direct fibre links to Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, USA and Indonesia
* Undersea cables:
Asia Pacific Cable Network (APCN)
South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SEA-ME-WE 3)
North Pacific Cable (NPC)
Trans Pacific Cable 4 (TPC 4)
Fibre Optic Link Around the Globe (FLAG)
Singapore-Malaysia Cable (SMC)
Malaysia-Thailand-East (MTE)
Thailand-Malaysia-West (TMW)
* Satellite Facility:
AsiaSat
* A world class international network management centre, opens all year round

P/S:hmn.. u really think that you can use DIGI 3G signal & talk directly to internet base in USA via 3G signal? haha.. i just kiding only ma.. don't get angry... rclxms.gif

DiGi 3g is non-related to the Time fibre optics cable.... 2 different technologies.

I am saying DIGI would benefit from TDC infrastructure...Huawei is the 3G equipment vendor...This include setting up 3G infra & network... Bare in mind, 3G is the 1st phase..After that, data is transmit on LAND line...Pls read my post# 369 again so that u have a better picture where is the position of 3G services...

QUOTE(KelvinLiu @ Mar 18 2009, 02:16 PM)

In order to find out weather is uses TDC? Can someone pls download this visual route & test it out..This VisualRoute Server provides a graphical traceroute and ping test from this server to any other network device you choose, useful for pinpointing network connectivity problems and identifying IP address locations.

ah... sorry to disappoint you, but I am not DiGi staff.
Hopefully you're not one as well, else it'll be sucky all the way for DiGi.

I got a question for you guys to solve out..Perhaps u are willing to help..haha
Ok.. my data unlimted (EDGE) contract v DG will expire soon in June.. So, i am in doubt now to weather
1. To sign for DG 3G broadband RM 58 or
2. To continue the EDGE data unlimited plan...

But, my area is still not cover by DG3G broadband.. If i sign for this, then my speed will be EDGE speed.. If this is true, then must well i continue the EDGE plan... But, i want faster speed.. Even if i would cross over to Maxis/Celcom, then it raises another concern...
a.Maxis/Celcom 3G coverage is not as wide as EDGE.. Which mean that most the time when i am traveling.. I got GPRS speed.. Hai yo... very headache.. Your advice & opinion is needed.. TQ

P/S: FYI, i had with EDGE unlimited plan for the past 2 YEARS.. From the Bill, my GPRS/EDGE data never exceed 3GB usage.I am from PG,my friend who work in DG said they will do a roadshow for the 3G broadband roll out for PG in May. And he will borrow me his 3G broadband SIM for me to test in my house.. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

QUOTE(shinjite @ Apr 26 2009, 05:08 PM)
It depends on u
if you are a light user, by all means, get 3.5G

Because you don't have to reregister another new sim card again

The fair usage policy.. Is it only happend in a Malaysia boleh country? Do u come across to know any others country's (US,Uk, Singapore,etc..)wireless broadband provider having this policy?

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Apr 26 2009, 11:14 PM)
In reality, there isn't any service which has both affordable price and quality together. From what I see, wireless broadband services are becoming more competitive these days but with the Fair Usage Policy, it is a major setback to most people.
