QUOTE(tjinn @ Jun 3 2009, 12:55 AM) hey guys. i just got a sf4 collectors edition. its r3. I don't think there's an R3 CE for SF4, furthermore provisioned with the Brawler's Pack DLC code. Does this come with the Ryu figurine, Blu-ray anime and/or soundtrack? If the box set is not sealed upon purchase then the R1 game may have been slotted with an R3, if purchased from shops. In this case, the code is only good for a US account, worse R2. CE is only available to the R1/R2 versions. Anyway DLCs are region-specific. You can find more help as the SF4 thread has plenty of gurus who can give better advice: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/968730so to redeem the free costumes must redeem the code in sg account ar? or us psn id also can? QUOTE(Darkstalker @ Jun 2 2009, 09:28 PM) I just ate at Outpost today and managed to chat with Alan. Thanks, Darkstalker - great news! I am blocking my calendar as we speak! He's got an event at Midvalley Megamall in 2 week's time, the 20th of June, where he'll be conducting a Street Fighter 4 marathon. Basically, you join in, play until you lose, if you lose you can join in the line again and play until you lose again. Think arcade setting. Bring your own sticks if you can. He said the price currently is RM10 I believe. Once you're in, you're in for the day from what I understand. I'LL SEE YOU ALL THEN (need to practise no PS3 how how QUOTE(MasterAlvin @ Jun 2 2009, 08:53 PM) I really don't know how to fight against Sagat except baiting and waiting for error windows. He has better attacking options, but not necessarily over-powered. Basic Bison B&B comes to mind - repeated Devil's Reverse to charge meter, it's an area Bison can control effectively. Cross-up MKs to advance in after knockdown? Against expected Tiger Shots mid-screen, try ex-scissors to get through? Or try to pressure with lk-scissors as it's a neutral move if blocked (no frame advantage to either players upon the move's recovery), and how about his teleport and wake-up ex-Pcycho Crusher. The thing about Bison is, he has little options to land his Ultra in a tight game, so he needs to really focus on every bit of damage output, especially chipping. Also, how about playing against your brother without both characters ever jumping? This will condition your mind a bit when facing chars with DPs.Additional: Oh yeah, he's tall so j.fwd HP at the jump apex (no need meaty) works well (meaning you try to hit his head, not torso) and vs some chars can cross-up as well. Catching him offguard with a fullscreen slide makes me laugh each time too, even on the receiving end This post has been edited by rawfish: Jun 3 2009, 09:22 AM |

i cant beat my brother without doing jump ins and cross ups. he has a very effective standing LP>HK>whatever and HK>whatever combo. and something>hadoken>FADC>HK>whatever combo. cant even get close.
guess i'm not doing effective baiting and all. |

^ If you can jump in on your brother safely, he needs to work on his AA then. XD
You can also EX Psycho Crusher past pre-empted single hit fireballs. I'd also aim to MK his limbs if he goes too fireball happy, but then he may TU your limbs so have to use this sparingly. Rawfish, I'll see you in a couple of weeks. |

Here, Alan - feel free to discuss and amend as needed. Just a small tourney rules framework I came up with.

QUOTE(brastel @ Jun 8 2009, 02:54 PM) Thanks - they're not final and are just my suggestions.Alan, more explanation on my input: 1) Marathon begins when a certain number of people is registered e.g. 10 people = begin on 1 machine 20 people = split on 2 machines 30 people and so on = 3 machines This is to ensure no early bird crowd gets the advantage, and so others may catch up if interested but came slightly late. **Referees/judges (minimum THREE) must be present to keep track of score and to avoid any disputes - hope you have enough. 2) As winners stay, I suggest a limitation be placed on their maximum streak. 3 would be reasonable as it would force them to re-queue and keep the average winning score fair + balanced. People may be afraid to face those high-hand and may even start avoiding that machine, or totally discourage them from participating. You can always decide on a higher number e.g. 5 or more. But I think 3 is fair and I am sure the winner will still be happy to re-queue to be fair to others to catch up. 3) Contestants play on a small stage or platform, to the benefit of: The MVEC crowd: more people get to see, especially those from far. The queueing contestants: ropes are needed for both QUEUE and EXIT systems, and must be in a specially pre-allocated section to differentiate from the public area. Maybe a 'snake' queue like GSC Midvalley / TGC KLCC/Pyramid? Since games are played (I presume on a 32" Bravia sgain?) on a raised platform i.e. 2 feet high, it's just like picking out a movie to watch like in a cinema queue. Like this, everyone can watch the games being played If a person needs to go to toilet, they need to queue again to avoid people from using that to cut queues (have to plan and control their own toilet breaks). Same goes if they decide to go off shopping or lunch or for smokes. **You may want to get the sponsors to provide mineral water to the contestants. Or someone may want to sell it on that day for profit **You may also want to provide simple stick-it labels at time of registration for contestants to label their equiptment This post has been edited by rawfish: Jun 8 2009, 03:46 PM |
