Event: Street Fighter 4 Nitro Gaming 2009
Date: 13th to 14th June 2009 (Saturday to Sunday)
Time: 12pm to 8pm (both days)
Venue: MVEC (Exhibition Centre), Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur
Part of Games & Gadgets Asia 2009, this semi-marathon event is brought to you by Sony Malaysia. Attractive prizes such as a Sony PlayStation 3 and a PlayStation Portable await the winners of this 2-day tournament.
REGISTRATION:
• Registration is opened anytime between 11am to 8pm, Saturday 13th June 2009
• One-time payment of RM10.00, per person
• Contestants are required to provide their full name, NRIC, contact number, preferred character (1 only) and other standard details at time of registration
• Marathon event commences once more than 20 people are gathered
GENERAL RULES:
• Console: Sony PlayStation 3
• Game version: Version 1.02 (post-Championship Mode update)
• Game settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, No Handicap
• Contestants must use the character they registered with for the duration of the event
• Contestants are not allowed to request anyone to sit-in for their matches
• All 25 characters are playable, but no alternate costumes (DLC pack) are allowed
• If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select
• Double KOs will lead to the match being played again
• No excessive swearing, pushing, or shoving during competition. Players who act unruly during competition will be given a warning first, and disqualification the second time
• Tournament rules are subject to change. The organizers and judges decisions are final
• The organizers reserve the right to use any images or video from the event for future publication or documentation events
CONTROLLERS:
• You can bring your own joystick (with your own adapter, for PS2 sticks) or joypad
• Please them label clearly with your names, as the organizers are not responsible for any cases of theft
• Please return to the main SF4 title screen once you have completed your matches
• Accidental pauses to the game during competition will lead to a warning, and disqualification upon the second time
• No Turbo usage and button shortcuts are permitted (joystick and joypad). Only LP/MP/HP/LK/MK/HK allowed
• Be considerate. Remember your preferred controller settings to configure them quickly on-the-fly before playing
ROUNDS:
Day 1 Nitro Gaming:
• Best of 3 rounds, 1 match
• To encourage fairness, winner stays for the maximum of 3 consecutive wins
• Once knocked out or achieved 3 wins, please move to the shortest queue among the THREE machines available
• Queue jumping is not permitted e.g. you are already in a queue and move to the next one
• By the end of the day, the overall top 16 players with the highest wins will proceed to Day 2
Day 2 Road to Finals:
• Best of 5 rounds, 3 matches
• Based on knock-out elimination system. You lose, you're out
• Match will be forfeited if players are not present. No substitution allowed
Day 2 3rd placing and Finals:
• Best of 5 rounds, 5 matches
Post-finals:
• After the prize-giving ceremony, players may participate in the Nitro Gaming marathon again for exhibition purposes - no prizes offered this time. Standard queue and 3-wins-max system still applies. Please be considerate!
TIPS:
• Mid Valley Megamall is accessible via KTM Komuter (Mid Valley station).
• You can also take a bus or cab to the mall from the Bangsar LRT (Putra) station
• Remember: it's the last day of the school holidays! Participants are encouraged to car pool and park at lower-density parking zones. Please be on time for your matches if you get to move on to Day 2!
