N82 V1 Thread -> [Nokia N82 Official Thread]

Nokia N82, the latest multimedia computer optimized for photography, navigation and internet connectivity. With the tools to discover the places and moments worth capturing, and the capabilities to capture and share them instantaneously, the Nokia N82 offers photography enthusiasts an enhanced camera experience.

Discover, capture and share
The Nokia N82 enables you to explore your surroundings and find your way with navigation and routing; document your adventures with the high quality imaging capabilities; and instantly share your experiences with one click upload to the web.

Featuring A-GPS, 5 megapixel camera, Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics and internet connectivity, the Nokia N82 also incorporates all the multimedia computer features common to Nokia Nseries. like its predecessor the Nokia N95, the Nokia N82 is the latest epitome of a truly converged device that is not one thing but is many.

Discover the world
The powerful A-GPS and preinstalled* Nokia Maps help you explore and locate new places, whether in another country or just around the corner. All Nokia N82 standard sales packages come with a free voice guided navigation trial*, and you can purchase additional features, such as city guides and longer subscription to the navigation.

With access to more than 15 million points of interest, you can locate and navigate to the most interesting sights, bars or restaurants wherever you are. You can also send map excerpts and routes to friends by MMS or save map screen shots to the gallery.

Capture your experiences
With a 5 megapixel camera, powerful Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss optics, the Nokia N82 delivers remarkably vivid photographs, even in low-light conditions. Fast camera activation, autofocus with a dedicated autofocus assist lamp, fast reloading between shots and DVD-like quality video capture make it a truly convenient and credible tool for capturing and telling your life stories.

Thanks to the 2GB microSD card in the standard Nokia N82 sales package*, you can store up to 900 high-resolution photos or up to 84 minutes of high quality video on the device.

"The Nokia N82 gives the best ever camera and navigation experience in one stylish premium device. Just imagine what kind of possibilities this will open up and how much richer your every day life experiences can be! The sophisticated design and glossy looks appeal to men and women who are conscious of their style and want to impress with the latest in technology," Satu Ehrnrooth continues.

Share your stories
With high speed Wi-Fi connectivity and one-click upload to communities, the Nokia N82 makes sharing your experiences and discoveries easy. When viewing a picture or video, simply one press of a button starts uploading it while you carry on using the device for other purposes.

Or you can impress your friends with multimedia slideshows - complete with music and effects - on the high resolution display or on a compatible TV.

The Nokia N82 comes with the new content driven 3D multimedia menu and includes a convenient orientation sensor that rotates the user interface automatically between horizontal and portrait mode. For quick and easy access to entertainment content, the Nokia N82 also supports the Ovi family of Nokia internet services, including Nokia Music Store, N-Gage games** and Nokia Maps.

The Nokia N82 is available now in key markets with an estimated, pre-tax, unsubsidized sales price of approximately 450, announced by Nokia on 14th November 2007.

The Nokia N82 seems like the next flagship of the Nokia N-series of multimedia-oriented smartphones. Although it looks pretty much the same as Nokia N95 specs-wise, it outmatches the current heavyweight champion with a xenon flash and automatic screen rotation.

First off, we present you the Nokia N82 photos. We gotta admit the N82 is not the prettiest of handsets but it looks alright - especially having in mind it's loaded with features. You can't see silvery Nokia phones often, but the Nokia N82 is one of them. Some of us would have preferred black and hope there's a black version coming in the future (you didn't hear us say 8GB, did you?). (AND INDEED THEY DID MAKE N82 BLACK biggrin.gif)

A lot has been said about the Nokia N82 keypad and the way it resembles a Sony Ericsson rip-off. We won't comment on that as the world's leading manufacturer should know better than copying a competitor's solution. Our guess is that the N82 keypad is a revamped version of the Nokia N91 one. The Nokia N91 had an awful keypad, but with the N82 it's nothing like that. The keypad is far away from being flawless, but it takes little time to get used to.

The N82 comes with a 2 GB microSD memory card included. The side keys are comfortable and the stereo speakers are both located on the right side as with N95 - obviously you are meant to watch videos and listen to music in landscape mode.

The 5 megapixel camera on the back has a mechanical lens cover that turns the camera on automatically. The Nokia N82 is the first Nokia handset to feature a xenon flash. The N82 xenon flash is the first worthy adversary of the Sony Ericsson K850 xenon flash that has been dominating ever since its first introduction in Sony Ericsson K800. The N82 looses some points to K850 as it doesn't have a LED light for video recording.

We conducted an improvised xenon flash test by shooting with Nokia N82 and Sony Ericsson K850 in almost total darkness. It seems that the currently reigning xenon champion has found a match in the face of Nokia N82.

An intriguing feature of the Nokia N82 is the auto rotation of the user interface. It's not lighting fast but it's OK. The general speed of the user interface is identical to the one of Nokia N95 8GB, which is fast enough.

From wikipedia N82 Wiki

The Nokia N82 is a smartphone announced by Nokia on November 14 2007. It is part of the company's Nseries line of smartphones which features the N-Gage gaming platform and the Nokia Music store (where available). The N82 runs Symbian OS v9.2 based S60 3rd Edition platform with Feature Pack 1. It has a 5 megapixel camera and is the first Nokia phone with xenon flash.

The N82 includes a built-in accelerometer, for video stabilisation and photo orientation (to keep landscape or portrait shots oriented as taken). The N82 has automatic screen rotation as a standard feature. The latest available firmware version is numbered v30.0.019 and is dated July 23 2008. U.S. releases of the N82 do not support U.S. 3G frequencies (850 and 1900 MHz) and Nokia has not announced plans to release N82s in the United States which do. As a result, applications and features that require the N82 to connect to a 3G network cannot be used in the United States.

The China market version of the N82 has a different hardware platform and has the WiFi and the UMTS radio removed (I.E. no 3G support). It also has a different product code (RM-314 as opposed to RM-313) and the firmware is not compatible. It can be easily identified by the lack of the line saying "WLAN scanning" on the idle screen. This version is for mainland China only and the N82s in Hong Kong and Macau are standard APAC RM-313s with the 3G and WiFi.

The N82 camera makes a sound and flashes a red LED near the phone's flash while taking a picture. Although the sound can be changed and the user gets to choose from four different options, it cannot be turned off in many regions including Asia and North America. This feature was embedded to protect people's privacy. Some users found it frustrating that the snapshot sound could not be turned off.

The European and Chinese firmware are exceptions to this - they will mute the shutter sound when the mobile is in silent mode. Setting the Warning Tones to Disabled in settings also removes camera shutter sound.

I think you better not to make this statement here "boring and dull symbian"???

It is just because you dont know anything about the certificate signage and make use of it...

Symbian phone have the largest 3rd party software in mobile now and every year its developer gets AWARDS!!!

i give up doing the crappy sign cert with this n82, so hard to get things done without anyone giving a proper guide but asking me to google when i google it up, there gives 20 over solution with none of them are correct, boring and dull symbian, worst experience in moving to NOKIA

Sad to hear that you have the worst experience in Nokia.
I am happy with my N82 eventhough I did not ahem my phone for those ahem applications.
And I love the users here for giving tips. thumbup.gif

Guys, do you know how to set up Outlook Express email on the phone without using a 3rd party application?

I remembered doing it on my Nokia N95 solely using the proprietary email in the phone, but now I don't remember how!

Outlook Express (work email), not Gmail, I already have Gmail in the phone. Thanks in advance!

anyone got any recommendation for good 3rd party software for a "normal" n82

also is 8gb class 6 available in the market yet ? or the max is class 4 ? and how much does class 4/6 cost about ?

someone introduced me to a "Ultra" class for the fastest type of MICRO SDHC, anyone got any idea? thanks

OE is just a mail client. It depends on your work email is using what server. POP or IMAP (MSExchange). The process of setting up the work email is similiar to setting up Gmail in N82 messaging/email, but just different type of server.

I got both my gmail and work email setup also.

Your question is too vague. It is like asking what is a good choice of subject to study in college/uni.

Tell us what you want to do ? Games/Work ? What type of software apps ? You can refer pg.1 of all compiled list that are recommended for N82 users.

Yes, 8GB SDHC Class 6 for about RM75-80
16GB SDHC Class 2 only so far.

I think the Ultra micro-SDHC is referring to high-speed read/write access, which is basically a Class 4 or 6 instead of normal Class 2.

You mean the sunshine glare ? or the indoor picture glare due to flash ?

I think he used default settings. N96 seems to have blue/green *what you call it* effect.

Actually how fake is fake ? hmm.gif Considering they spend so much to create the packaging, print the name on the card. It is just RM80, not RM8,000.

If they produce in large quantity then their cost is much lower... Profit is more... How to read is genuine of fake I really have no idea ,that's why until today I still have not much confidence on buying new memory card... Or should I just stick back to my 8GB instead???

Depends on the Class you are using, I try full force on 4GB Class 4 (Full videos/songs/apps/games) until left 32MB for 4GB... Still not up to satisfaction level, in delay opening apps, especially videos... Wanna try for 8GB Class 6 and see the result...

Im personally dont recommended Smart Movie as it cant convert all format video (some can and some cant), better google for other converter your can direct convert any videos for better resolution 320x240 (landscape full screen mode)...

If you wanna view youtube video, go to the mobile youtube, not the normal youtube. Real player will then open the video automatically and it's smooth like no other on mobile youtube (at least when I used it to watch Happy Tree Friends =D).

No idea bout SmartMovie though sweat.gif

If your unit is authorised set, and you plan to use it for at least 1-3 more years, I suggest to goto original nokia centre. Ask them to escalate the case when go spare parts and the cost.

I don't really recommended outside, unless those you can really trust. There are many rumours about they swap your other original workings parts while fixing your problem.

No need. N82 has UDP (User Data Preservation?). However, it is still recommended to backup the phone memory using N82 or PC Suite backup.

The N82 has GPS built in, so no need to buy any external devices.
You can use the Nokia Map that comes along with the phone. But you need to pay for subscription for the voice navigation (that means there is voice to tell you turn left or turn right).
Many users tend to install Garmin into their N82. Garmin has better features than Nokia Map.

A-GPS is Assisted GPS.
It is like a "fire starter".
Assume you want to start a fire for a BBQ, you light a match to fire up the charcoal. It will take some time for the charcoal to burn. This is = GPS take some time to lock in the satellites.

If you use a "fire starter" on the charcoal, the charcoal will start to burn faster.
This is = A-GPS faster to lock in the satellites.

So for N82, A-GPS is built-in to assist in locking the satellites faster, but it make use of mobile phone operator signal.
Therefore, when you use A-GPS, you will be charged a small fee by your mobile phone operator.

based on what you said , the maximum cumulative time would already be around the region of 5 minutes. if you just left it open , chances are that it will get a lock faster sweat.gif

Press "#" for abc/ABC/Abc/123... If pressing "#" + moving cursor means copy or cut text, same as older Nokia phone has "pencil" buttons... Got what I mean???

ok..let me get this into detail..i tried this in file manager, x-plore, gallery, message...

after pressing # once, the phone will go into this "marking mode", where item i scroll through will be marked, and pressing the OK button or # again, it will be switch to "unmark mode", where when i scroll through marked item, it will be unmarked...then, you know we open files with OK button, but in this condition, i'll have to hit #+OK button to open the file..such condition even occur in the option menu after i press # button in apps i mentioned above..dunno why is that..maybe setting error, or i need to soft reset..

Added on February 18, 2009, 12:47 amoh ya..anyone skinned their n82 here?? just skinned yesterday, but i notice the screen colour now looks funny now due to the uneven surface of the phone skin..is it suppose to be like this and it will be gone after a few days?

oh..N81 # key works different...to mark current item, press # and OK button, and to mark multiple item, you need to press # and scroll through the items you want to mark..

so that means my N82 # button works just like the rest of you all??

use for listening songs ? i recommend u buy Creative EP-630.. Cheap and Nice..
go buy OEM 1.. just rm55..  rclxms.gif
*

beware OEM sound quality, very big different compare to original
head to audiophile to read more
2 years back, PC Fair (creative booth) selling around the same price. but last year no more.

i suggest invest abit more on Mylar IEM headset, around RM170
reasonable price with good quality
if u dont like IEM, go for PK2... also around the same price
fyi, both r entry level on audiophile section tongue.gif

Yes yes!!! That's true. But you might wanna check with some Mylars coz the N82 might not be able to reproduce sound quality of a pair of Mylars up to the expected audiophile level. Im using a pair of Sennheiser PX100 and Shure SE110. I notice that the PX100 performs relatively good (but needs more amp. Have to set volume to around 60% for my normal usage) and SE110 is just average.

1) Either set your Messaging to use Memory Card, or
2) Open and manual save the BT-SMS as images into your Memory Card. Then delete the BT-SMS.

1. i already set the messaging to use memory card but the prob is that i want to move the files to certain folders inside the memory card and not inside the "messaging" folders.

2. the problem with this is if i have 50+ pictures it would be such a hassle to save it one by one.. can i save it to the memory card if i select all? i think not

I think have to save one by one. No option to save all at once, even though highlighted. I've encounter before with 10+ BT over images.

the provided HS-43 stereo earphone in the box sounds already good enough for me, moreover it's convenient and it's wiring is long enough. Also, you can control the volume from the controller which is very convenient. However, the downside is that you can't change the track when u play the mp3. You can only change the track when you are inside the music player.

I don't think n82 sound system is that lousy as mentioned, playing DvDrip video and House Season 5 in my phone was as clear as I played it in my PC. Moroever, the stereo widening is nice that you can actually feel the difference with it. Although n82 can't actually blast so loud, who would want to spoil their phone speaker just to entertain a crowd of 50 people or even playing a boring music that 10 people might have different taste =)

If you are driving, then it is not loud enough. But if you are in a quiet room, then it is loud.

I have the SE Bluetooth headset. But sometimes forgot to bring along, then have to use the speaker when call comes in.
All Bluetooth headset battery can last for many days (with one charge).

sorry to bring the # issue again..just got another question to ask...
after we press #, the "shift" is set to on, which means we move around items to mark it..but how to turn it off in messaging app? cos after changing language, move left and right, it will still mark words that i have typed, and that's annoying..if i press # and directional button, the input language will be changed..is there any possible work around to prevent this kind of stuff?

anyway...
time to save money for our next phone that is most likely coming out 2 more years...

Yes a lot of shops are selling it, but I think there is fake too, just becareful and choosing and buying... Survey around first before buying, compare the qualitiy of it with each other...

kingston is overrated especially for it's ram. no so good performance wise but still the same price as corsair.

i think for memory card it's the same too.. sandisk is better imo. you can check any of their products and check to see whether your hardware/phone can work with a certain product.. you can check it out in their website

he'll probably ask you to google it up instead of giving you the direct answer which only takes 10 second of his life time to do it, better google anything before you talk anything in here

just like most of his answer in this forum
e.g
"lol *hints* google for malsingmap v2.30 ya u will find heaps "
"try google latitude"

as far as i tried the smart movie, it isn't "smart" actually

to install, you can just connect the n82 via the usb cable and click on pc suite then use the given converter in the winrar file to convert the movie to a smaller file which smart movie program can read.

If you ask me, the real player provided in the n82 is already good enough as I tried loading DvDrip movies and played in the phone, even Drama Episodes, they are DEAD clear, Audio is also at top quality, and if you're thinking about the DivX player, it is said that the playback will be choppy if your phone does not have a fast enough processor =)

If you want to convert movie for your phone to be played in real player, just head to the movie list and convert the movie you want. A typical .avi file of 750 mb will be reduced to merely 300 mb which is really space saving, then click to "move to phone" and you'll be able to watch your video in the phone.

For me, it cux, in term of design and function, I dun feel that this new phone entice me to buy it. Only the resolution of picture taken is increased, but the flashlight is downgraded, and I donou why they make the button liek that, looked so ugly...

Fall in love with IDOU however.

imo...eventough its 8mp camera...but if u want to take pictures during night time like countdown party, prom night...the picture produce will be suxs...only xenon will solve the problem... rclxms.gif ..and thats why n82 is the best camera phone...even its 5mp.. whistling.gif

the led is a newer 3rd generation led and will be better than previous leds. plz read in n86 thread.

n86 picture quality would be the same if not better than n82. keep in mind that it's pic "quality" not picture with flash.

the only difference is flash, not pic quality. please note loong.

xenon has its disadvantages, mainly overexposure especially if it's a close up/macro mode.

also keep in mind that among all 5mp n-series phones, n82 has the lowest battery life mainly no thanks to the xenon flash, eventhough it has a smaller screen size and one of the dimmest/low brightness screen among the 5mp n-series.

so n82 wins in terms of photography because of the terrific xenon flash but overall/smartphone usability n86 wins..

i i must take a pic in low light or during night time like countdown party, prom night, i'd get myself a digital camera or a DSLR

Anyway, you guys know where can I change the skin/outer shell of my n82? And how many riggits would it cost me?

if ur budget is there~~then u go for ap..

before hacking, you need to sign every single app you install..some are signed for public, therefore no need to sign..
but after you sign, there is not need for signing anymore, that means you can just install unsigned or expired cert apps into your phone without any problem..
also, after hacking, you can enable your "private" folder to be seen

yes, you can install without any signing after hacking the phone..that's why mobile gamers( like me) die die also wanna hack the phone...

rompatcher is a software that can run some patch to enable some function that are originally not on your phone..for example, open4all patch enable users to view their private folder
there is also another patch for it that works only on FP2 device, it enable menu effects, and user are able to change the effects..really impressive, played with my N81 8GB before changing to this...

rompatcher allows you to use patches which allows you to do stuff like changing shutter sound (silencing it tongue.gif), removing the successful focus sound and etc

since you mention is that way..
the stuff we are discussing, is not about hacking the phone, it's about stuff that requires the phone to be hacked...no discussions on how to hack the phone, and obviously people here all know that phone can be hacked...

Low Yat Plaza Nokia Service Center can changed it but you need to buy housing from them which cost your RM120 (100% original Black housing)

n isit ori phone quality better than AP?

Yes AP set can be fixed at Nokia Service Center but need to pay even it is under warranty, wherby if Avvaxx/Zitron warranty set is FOC for fixing within the warranty period...

It is safe to make firmware upgrade?
If anything goes wrong, what will happen?

Make sure before you do an updating your internet connection line is good... If seldom/regularly cut off line is not recommended...

USB transfer using N82 is slower than taking out the memory card and plug into USB card reader.

Guys,need you all comments here...

1. Is it the keypad comfortable to sms?
2. What is the max memory supported? If fully loaded, will it lag a lot?
3. If want take good picture, did you all change settings?or just set auto only?
4. Is the GPS function sensitive enough?(do not know sensitive is the right word to describe...)

Might prefer N82 over 5800 due to the camera..now using K810 with not workable keypad...damn annoying...

My advice you bring a friend that either good in handphone or a huge fan n82 . They can check and rectify any problem within mins.

The cheaper you buy the resell value in future is better. Example you buy ori n82 after 2 or 3 years you wanna resell RM 600 you loss RM 800 when AP let says same time you loss only RM600.

Depreciation thats what they call it. My first Zitron phone is nokia 5800 because of AP price and ori about RM100 different.

My Ex E71 AP , N82 AP , n95 8GB (using now) AP

You get what i meant. Just treat your friend a good dinner there still alot of saving there. Lastly dont trust the shop 100% because no matter how good friend its still business except if he is really your buddy. Bring a close friend there

Sigh let me explain do you know where does AP phones come from?

Ori or AP they are the same phone just nokia distribute it in another country then they take those phone authorized in that specify country and sell it in the malaysia.

only malaysia have AP phones. Other country they get free phones with package plans.

does anyone here ever do a housing/casing changing? i'm having problems with the camera lens activation after fully transfer to new housing.

I think the installer didint put installed back the back cover properly... That why the camera lens cover is not detected while slide down, better bring back to the place you installed and ask them to check...

recently i just go to the shop and ask the price for n82...the AP price rise till rm1255 (which is more expensive than last time i asked, last time only rm1155)....and original price around rm1400...is it better for me to get ori set since the price gap just around rm200...
*
Price increasing due to limited stock in the market now...

AP sets are equally as good as original sets aside from the warranty. Think about it. How many times would you actually claim the warranty?

In my history of mobiles:

NK 6670-NK N70- SE P990i - NK N82

All were AP sets. Never claimed warranty before. Never died on me before. All bought from the same shop of course tongue.gif AND I have thai alphabets of my NK6670 and N82's keypad. Possibly shipped from Thailand. But all is good so far. Save at least Rm200 compared to ori sets. Just my opinion cool.gif

i transfer an .avi format video file from another mobile. so it will be saved in the inbox rite?? but it cant be played by the default player (N82 real player).
so how am i going to view it using Core Player?? or is there any way to find the exact file so tat i can move it to another directory??
P.S: I've "ahem" my N82. Can view all directory now.

Many ways to transfer direct to phone memory

1) Use Bluetooth File manager Java
2) Use pcsuite transfer via bluetooth or cable
3) Remove the memord card and plug it into card reader and transfer in
4) Upload the file to a website and use your phone to download it.

Just make sure the other phone resoulution same as your N82 otherwise you wont be able to view it... If you are using "ahem" Explorer you can access messaging, cut it and paste to wherever you want...

Using N82 one Zitron and one AP.

My Experience:
AP
~1. Screen Cracked (put in pocket) within 1st week of purchase. Paid RM200 for new lcd and need to wait 2-3 weeks. Noticed a few "open marks" on the side edge of the casing.
~2. Phone problem(camera on, press the shoot button straight off the camera), phone hangs when receive call etc. Free but waited almost 2 months. More open marks noticed. shakehead.gif

Zitron
~1. LCD got a few blank lines after 6 months of usage. Changed LCD and received my phone within 1 hour. Very efficient. No open marks at all. Perfect casing like before.

If price is affordable, go for Original warranty. notworthy.gif

hehe...i happen to know where is it...
go to the private folder under then drive u save it( c: for phone, e: for memory card), the look for this folder "1000484b"
it's where all your messages are saved, there are a lot of subfolders inside, you'll have to open up one by one, cos there is no actual way to know which folder it's in..but it's definately in one of those folder..
extra tips, if u using Xplore to view that folder, just hold the right button, it will scroll downwards and open all the folders on the way

Just update it to the latest firmware and you will notice a few improvements indirectly. v31 can also be hacked smile.gif

v30 is indeed quite a bugged firmware and you should always update it to the latest.

IF your update fails during the process then you can just send your phone to Nokia Care Centre. laugh.gif

that means that the current product code does not have the v31 update yet.

if ap set u can change the product code to EURO, i suggest as with this product code, usually the latest fw updates are on this product code and also u can take pictures with the camera shutter sound off.

try and taking pictures in SILENT profile or turn off warning tones in your current profile. if you still hear the shutter sound then most probably u have an APAC (asia pacific) product code. usually apac product code is quite slow in terms of FW updates.

that means that the current product code does not have the v31 update yet.

if ap set u can change the product code to EURO, i suggest as with this product code, usually the latest fw updates are on this product code and also u can take pictures with the camera shutter sound off.

try and taking pictures in SILENT profile or turn off warning tones in your current profile. if you still hear the shutter sound then most probably u have an APAC (asia pacific) product code. usually apac product code is quite slow in terms of FW updates.

I already change it to malaysia product code! v31 update available, updating now! rclxm9.gif

Guyz.. I need opinion here..
Just upgrade firmware to v31 several day ago..

Got 2 main problem:
1. When typing SMS, word apprear to be lagging, take 2,3 second to appear screen after typing.
2. When receiving sms, the vibration doesn't stop, need to switch off then on the hp back to stop the vibration. (Occurs 2x in 4 days)

Can I revert back to old firmware or should I reinstall the V31 firmware?

bsb85my, can find the video from your message folder now?

mine also v31, but the vibration bug don seem to hit me, but i got another bug..like after i force exit some apps(press the reject call when the app is just started), i cannot view running applications anymore..when i hold the "menu" button, my phone will be like lag there, and if get out of the situation, i need to press the reject call button again to go back to standby screen...
i found 2 ways to solve it..one is change theme, but if i change back the theme i was using when i got the problem, the problem is also back..
then i try soft reset, it work, but i lost all the equalizer settings i have..

With V20, I find that the GPS lock in to the satellites in more than 2 minutes.
With V30, the GPS lock in time is around 45 seconds.

If you installed GMXT on your phone and you want the battey life stays longer... Follw the step below to removed some files...

The new garmin kills the battery life on our phones. There is a program called TSRAutostart.exe that is draining the battery. If you have jbtaskman and kill the process, it will just start again when you restart your phone. Here is a solution to stop that file from automatically starting, thus greatly increasing your battery life.

To stop that file from restarting, plug your phone into your computer and use the mass storage setting. Then, delete these two files

\sys\bin\CardRunner.dll
\resource\plugins\CardRunner.RSC

This will stop that battery hog file from starting up. If you install jbtaskman you can kill the process after your run garmin. This will increase your battery. It works for me, and i use the N82...

QUOTE(yip_man @ Feb 23 2009, 01:07 PM)

Does this really work? Anyone tried removing the files as described above?

bsb85my, can find the video from your message folder now?

mine also v31, but the vibration bug don seem to hit me, but i got another bug..like after i force exit some apps(press the reject call when the app is just started), i cannot view running applications anymore..when i hold the "menu" button, my phone will be like lag there, and if get out of the situation, i need to press the reject call button again to go back to standby screen...
i found 2 ways to solve it..one is change theme, but if i change back the theme i was using when i got the problem, the problem is also back..
then i try soft reset, it work, but i lost all the equalizer settings i have..

anyone face this problem before??
also, do you guys set eq setting when you play songs with n82 speaker?
i find it rather hard to set...
*
yes..i did solve my prob.
u nid to ahem ur n82 in order to view all ur files by using x-plorer.
the file located in C:\private\1000484b\mail2 (i'm not sure izit always tis folder for bluetooth)

i solve tis prob by using Core player to play the file. Use core player to play entire C:\private. Then the player will list out the files' name. From there u can view one file is from which location. This is how i solved my prob. And i move the .avi to my mem card. icon_rolleyes.gif

just found this post on a chinese forum..

从德州的资料上看,只有2430才能达到MPEG4 encoding up to VGA 30 fps

CPU。MPEG4, H.263, H.264, VC-1 (WMV9) and Flash 8 (On2 & Spark) encoding and decoding up to D1 (720 × 480) resolutions ,牛吧。

for those who cannot understand chinese, here is my translation to the content:
as well all know, N82 uses OMAP 2420. According to its detailed specs, only OMAP 2430 can handle MPEG4 encoding up to VGA 30 fps, and 2420 can only handle highest of 4MP camera..but as we all know, N82 have a 5MP camera, and is able to record MP4 VGA @ 30fps..why?

The reason is, there is ANOTHER CPU on N82 apart from the OMAP chips -- the OMAP_DM290_GOLDENEYE. This CPU is specificly used on digital cameras, and it's capable of MPEG4, H.263, H.264, VC-1 (WMV9) and Flash 8 (On2 & Spark) encoding and decoding up to D1 (720 × 480) resolutions. powerful right?

so according to the actual specs, N82 is actually a standalone digital camera + a symbian platform, not a symbian platform with camera platform.
This is what nokia actually means by 2 CPU, it's OMAP2420 + OMAP-DM290, not the dual core architecture of OMAP2420 itself..

now, we can actually understand why N82 drains battery so much, it has 2 standalone CPU in it..but on the bright side, OMAP-2420 + OMAP-DM290 can match up with the performance or OMAP2430

please forgive me if i translated wrongly, my english aint that good..
