You can't because you have a test on the 6th.?
When is the APR's assessment day?
*
I emailed APR...they say thet will put the april intake AD at The star @ 25 March( 3days after SPM result out) and the assessment test is on 7th of April. Although the date dosent clash......the 6th april test is AA cadet pilot intake(1st Stage). so...u know why cry.gif cry.gif

C'mon. You have to decide between flying and fixing planes. They're not the same 'apples' if you know what I mean.. tongue.gif

ONE BIG QUESION !!!!! MIGHT AFFECT US! icon_question.gif
As we all know, aircraft now days are using kerosene which is a type of fossil fuel hmm.gif ....and fossil fuel is running out soon...so aircraft that use this fuel have to be modified. So the whole aviation system will be change. cry.gif ...pilot and maintenance crew will have to be retrained mad.gif ?

or maybe some scientist might invent some new transport that is much efficient, eco friendly (no carbon emission), maintenance free, fully auto pilot and design and features have no relation with any aircraft nowdays? ..so all the job GONE?! icon_question.gif den alot of mechanic and pilot lost jobs? doh.gif

This should be self explanatory.
Search for similar Boeing's report.

Any mentions of depleting fossil fuel? What say you bandit? tongue.gif

I seriously think your view about aircraft maintenance is terribly narrow, focussing on fossil fuel that powers the engines that is going to deplete soon. Do you know they have jet engines running on hydrogen, etc?

Answer this.
Does it really matter what powers the engines, fossil fuel or warp drive or whatever the propulsion mode is?

Where does this requirements to have maintenance crew and certifications for airworthiness come from?

Take your time to answer.

The whole world is looking at you kiddo. biggrin.gif

Hi there..anyone has any suggestion for which institute is actually ok to take AME course? Right now my choice would be either MATA for DCA or NILAI for EASA.....any comment about this 2 places? I actually want to try to apply for MAS or AirAsia but cant seems to find any application on their sites anywhere :/

From the industry, only 2 names stand out.
1. DTS
2. APR-ATC

Both are Approved Training Organizations.
DTS strength in avionics ie Cat. B2
APR-ATC strength in Fixed Wing and Rotary wing. The ONLY ATO approved for rotary wing.

Stay away from MATA as you will 'pass out' WITHOUT A LICENSE!
Personally I think what they offer is like a scam/daylight robbery. Their Approval has lapsed since last year and no submission was made to renew as per AN1201 to qualify for Part 147 ATO.

Anything else?

MAS/AirAsia stopped the Trainee Engineers programme for quite sometime!

Thanks alot jazzy, looks like MATA is out of my list.
Really? I went to some edu fair last weekend, and all the AME related institute booth i visit suggest that i apply for MAS or AA,that's sad i guess. Parents pressed me to apply because of the confirmed job thingy =.=

Actually first choice would be going for EASA license, but parents have mix feelings since only can work overseas unless i convert to DCA ,and the only college I know is Nilai. Any recommendation?

Also,I haven't decided which specialization I would go for yet, maybe around the Cat B1 thingy
.
Do we specifically choose to study parts of the plane? Or we only go for specialization once we apply for the license? Something about type rating right?

Thank you and sorry for all the questions. Want to get opinion from other people xD

Tomorrow or saturday, go to PWTC, seek out DTS or APR booth and ask them everything you want to know.
Do not be mislead by EASA licence. If you're NOT type rated and lack in experience(minimum 5 years as an engineer), you have no 'value'.

Study parts of the plane? NO. You study EVERYTHING. You only specializes in AVIONICS or MECHANICAL TRADE OR BOTH!!

Why bother. I am in training and this is what I do for a living. Of course I am a licensed engineer with 27 years experience under my belt. You still need a second opinion? biggrin.gif

Somebody has got to do the 'dirty job' if you know the 'cliche'... brows.gif
Not many LAEs have talent to teach eventhough they are very knowledgeable and experience. Rather let someone make a mess, let me do it.. biggrin.gif

'Teaching' is also a passion of mine.. I like sharing knowledge, skills and experience to those who wants to learn.
No point of me going to the grave with these knowledge, right? wink.gif

I wish I can go there,but i'm at sarawak
Here its rare to find LAME institute at edu fair. hmm.gif
Seeing the posts around here, you must be a lecturer?
Dont get the bold part though xD

Hahaha,I guess i'm more towards the mechanical part than avionics.
Just that so many conflict here and there, with parents and with the institutes.
Should have done research about this earlier.
Too ignorant last time, thought that this job is quite simple cry.gif

I'mma send email to those ppl and hope they reply. Thank you man!

Here's a hope.
Talk to Hornbill Skyways. They're about to embark on their Trainee Engineer Programme in collaboration with APR-ATC with the support from Yayasan Sarawak. Training will be in Kuching, of course. APR will be doing a road show in Kuching soon. Pls write to training@aeroprecision.com.my to inquire about this.

I am in training= I am an INSTRUCTOR. biggrin.gif

Yes you are right. This not a SIMPLE course or JOB.. Good to know you've seen the 'light'.. wink.gif

hello guys! i'm back again. talked to MIAT and my seniors. my seniors said DCA gave miat until May to sort things out or their ATO application will be gone for good. QA Miat is really a pain the ass eh?

anyway, i'm going to do a very short 1 week practical training with MHS Aviation which happens to be based at MIAT hangar next week (during miat holiday). hopefully can learn a thing or two there.

ps : the practical training is me and my friends self initiative to start completing our logbooks slowly from now on. of course, with the help of our instructor too.

The edu fair the other day i talked to MATA and NILAI representatives. The MATA representative really know how to convince people haha...I wouldnt guessed the negative side of studying there. I guess thats why its good to get feedback from others instead of just the people themselves huh? hmm.gif
Wow really appreciate the help man.
Where do you teach btw?

Not at all lah! This is what forums are for.. helping out one another! biggrin.gif

That I have to give it to MATA, they're a good seller! laugh.gif
If you wereto ask DCA, they should be able to advice and give you good options for you to decide.
I teach in an ATO.. that is all I will reveal. wink.gif
