QUOTE(JohnMax @ Jun 12 2009, 06:46 AM) Thanks bro.Let say im going to AST,do i still need to convert to my license to work with AA or Mas ? From what i know, the end point still the same,LAE if we take in Malaysia or overseas. Or is there some kind of,"demand higher for EASA license compared to BCAR license ? I just email them to ask about the entry requirement, fees and everything. |

QUOTE(hirari @ Jun 12 2009, 10:58 AM) I think it doesn’t matter what or which license you hold. You definitely need to start somewhere. Let say i got my LWTR from AST.And if you want to go work elsewhere, overseas especially, you certainly need to have the experience and the type rating(s) to back it up. AST is approved by CAA UK and has a relationship with Advanced Aircraft Training, an approved EASA Part-147 training organisation. I guess MIAT is following their steps. MIAT has been approved by M'sian DCA (our own civil aviation authority). And MIAT has a collaboration with Aero-Bildung, which also holds EASA Part-147 approval. The way i see it, it's like an insurance to have some kinda relationship with a Part-147 ATO (approved training org.) to have a solid Part-66 program. how long do i need to do the conversion ? thanks bro. |

Hi guys.
I just got back from Subang. Do u know about Milog ? a.k.a Metc. Which open for Mas employees and Felda Employees. Im going to be their first private student. But,just now, they told me since they got approval from Dca, they might open for public for the first time. But,u need to remember, its semi-regimen school. So im here, wanna do a survey who like to enroll in this program. |

QUOTE(hirari @ Jul 2 2009, 01:45 AM) Oh yea now i remember. You're referring to the Malaysia Airlines Engineering Training Centre (METC). i don't get you the first time. i tot there's a new school or something. lol They never stopped their annually intake for student from Felda and Mas.Yea i did heard that they run it like a military school. And i also heard that they had stopped taking new intakes a while back. So they have received DCA approval eh? And start taking new intakes. That's good. This coming intake, they might open for public.Haji Khairuddin said, his license with no 942 in a couple decade a go.Now only 2+++.. So we can see how slow this industry go. hurm... |

QUOTE(hirari @ Jul 2 2009, 05:53 AM) So few LAEs indeed. lol Sure bro. They originally take MAS sponsored and FELDA sponsored trainees rite? It's about time they open up a slot for the public. Tho i wish they had done it sooner. =( Anyways, good luck maryjane. I'd say it is a very good opportunity for anyone who wants to start a career in this field. Grab it while you can. =) Ive done many things to get in this school. Thanks for your support. Added on July 2, 2009, 12:48 pm QUOTE(hakunamatata @ Jul 2 2009, 11:44 AM) what is mean by regiment? It use 50% of arm forces law.Ai ya, all aircraft engineering school also very strict with discipline one.. we're not like american school can wear jeans or anything to class and work.. If come late to class = no commitment = stand outside and learn Btw, 18 yro is consider as legal smoker so u can smoke la, BUT at smoking area, depend ur school rules and regulations.. What u say is normal, but in METC, there will be a "kawat" every morning, walk in form, work as team and etc.. This post has been edited by maryjane9996: Jul 2 2009, 12:48 PM |

QUOTE(Lestat @ Jul 3 2009, 03:31 AM) nope!but its a good thing, cause i target to go AA,then maybe overseas, lastly will be MAS. guys..i got 1 question. In category A,there will be OJT for 1 year. After Cat-B,we need to work for 2 years right.. or,if in Cat A we already done OJT for 1 year, after Cat B still 2 years or only 1 year ? |

QUOTE(hirari @ Jul 4 2009, 01:44 AM) AA already have their own trainee program if i'm not mistaken? Wouldn't they be taking people from there? Most of LAE in AA come from Mas.And i guess after i finish from the school,im a LWTR holder.Or,am i misinterpret the question at the first place ?I wonder if they would hire people from other schools. =/ I'm not so sure about that one. I believe Cat B (B1 or B2) is a pretty huge step up from Cat A. So i'm guessing you'd still need those extra 2 years. But AFAIK, there's no Cat A offered by those who is conducting Part-66 program here. Only Cat B1 (mostly) and B2. Besides, it's better to aim for the Cat B rather than the lower Cat A since Cat B has more certification privileges (which also means larger responsibility lol). Yeah i know.even sponsored student from felda and Mas will go for their Cat B,but after they get their Cat A.Correct me if im wrong.Thanks. |

QUOTE(hirari @ Jul 4 2009, 10:46 PM) I think he meant the OJT duration. Two years of practical experience (OJT). Actually, they got 2 course. What does the METC say about this? Did they specifically mention that Cat A only need one year for OJT? TJT and TAME. TJT-Training for 1year,and OJT for 1 year. TAME-CAT A,B for 3 years,OJT for 2 years But i want to know, either 1 OJT in CAT A counted in 2 years CAT B ? |

QUOTE(aniqshamsul @ Jul 15 2009, 11:27 PM) Nope. Those sponsored student by MAS or FELDA will be working with MAS.For private student,u can go anywhere. But if your result and discipline is good, the school it self will recommend u to MAS. |
