2. Sharp FHD LCD 46" A77M
3. Panasonic FHD Plasma 50" TH-P50S10K
4. Samsung FHD Plasma 50" PS50B650S1R

Toshiba and Philips color quite good.I can only gives u an advise that compare all these 3 models as u mention side by side, playback with BD player, set all same neutral setting eg:color contrast and brightness and etc.
From here u can decide which one u prefer.

Mind to share where you got the info you quoted? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Panasonic is the main plasma manufacturer at the moment and had invested heavily on the R&D of plasma technology, and others are focusing on LCD, including Samsung.

What do you mean by quality of Samsung Plasma? the built quality or PQ? In terms of PQ, Samsung Plasma are not well known for it, IMO, it is even behind its Korean competitor, LG. At least LG had produced a plasma series that received tons of praises, the PG60 in the North America market. (bear in mind though, the NA PG60 is different from the PG60 found locally). Samsung on the other hand, produces good LCD TV.

Samsung not in LCD? Samsung has been producing LCD TV for years and is one of the primary player. They even claimed to be the No. 1 LCD TV producer globally in terms of volume sometime ago.

Again, correct me if I am wrong, it seems to me that you have got the facts all mixed up

Overseas where? Coz most 'overseas' models are cheaper and better spec-ed. And minus the logistics cost.

Since the demise of my Sony CRT 29”, we’re looking at several options. My first thought is that since Sony had served us so well in the past we’re planning to get a Sony but da price for Sony 40” is mind boggling over 4k for an entry model. So we were about to settle for the Sony 32” the V series, full HD which runs for about RM2600. But on the other hand the Panny 42S10K around 3200++ caught my eye and the reviews from fellow forumers seems to be compelling. but the thing is when i went to checkout this shop (Desa Home theater in Kepong) the seller told me that if i'm ready to fork out such price for a plasma might as well go for da JVC 42" LCD tv full HD... since according to him LCD won't have burn-in, better img quality yada yada.... i'm kinda spoilt at choices here... Care to give me advices? I'm planning to use the tele for PS3, movies and astro of coz

no la.. the sony (teardown pix) is just to show what's in a typical CCFL LCD lor..

this particular unit is "green" type.. so it uses less CCFL tubes than normal units...

Really, choice is yours. If the price difference between JVC LCD and S10K is negligable, let your eyes decide. I don't think you'll need to worry about burn in if you are using it for ps3, movies and astro.
