Actually it depends.. I'm doing it per average settings... coz some videos are have unusual properties especially jap drama's (tried 640x360 and I got a black screen above and below the video, but using the settings I did in the tutorial I got it to be crystal clear full screen) and when converted they tend to run off from their properties..
So i'm just maximising and at the same time averaging the numerous files there is..

Diff videos and diff computers give diff outputs, tat's y not everyone have the same output file even if they use the same converter

Try FExplorer / Xplore? I noticed that Y-Browser plays safe asso... Many things kenot do (maybe due to restrictions placed by the Symbian Foundation?)...

Oh, and I think I've passed this warning before: Webgate Advanced Device Lock SCREWS up with your 5800 --> kenot be unistalled..

I hard-resetted due to this litte bugger...

Haha, dunno y but super don't really go well with vista. But i heard the current updates fixes that but have not yet tried it yet.

I have not tried MKV type file yet coz i dun have any at all =p

But will try it after my final exams are over.. still looking for that "perfect" setting for videos... hehe

I tried Xplore but i dont knwo where is the filed saved in so I cannot delete it.Tried searching the whole memory card for files in .swf format but I cannot find it too(Use windows explorer to find).

I tried converting .mkv Promotional Videos using Allok. Works perfectly. Trying to convert .mkv Animes now.

that depends on your needs....if you just want the video to fill the whole screen, and play with the aspect ratio and stretch it option. you gotta check your japanese dramas' original resolution to determine the optimum settings.

i still prefer to have my video with the original aspect ratio, and not have any stretching. so for 4:3 video, i'll have black bars on the sides, and for 2.35:1 movies i'll have black bars on the top/bottom.

Few suggestions for you

1. Use pc suite to sync ur inbox with pc, locate and delete that bluetooh msg if possible
2. Search the whole C:\ drive for that flash file of your MEMORY CARD instead of e:\ drive (the inbox is considered C:\)
3. Sent to ncc to ask for expert advice
4. Flash your phone firmware again do it at ur own risk

Yup yup, tat's y before converting i always check.. coz it's too troublesome to do it again if did it wrongly...

I notice that stretch it sometimes elongates the screen too much that people tend to look fat...

Even the settings i set here is not really perfect coz normal videos that are not wide screen will hav black bar also but only at the side but nt top and bottom

How long for you to fully convert a mkv file to mp4?

and how big was ur mkv file?

Yup...for some weird videos, the video properties also koyak at times....video appears to be 16:9 during playback, but indicated resolution is 4:3.

To be safe, for widescreen video, (using winmenc) i just choose fit to width, for 4:3 video, i choose fit to height, and it's been pretty much smooth sailing so far.

Still looking for a proper convertor like winmenc that allows multi-threading, cpu priority choice and the various options. Super cannot adjust some options, and the encoding doesn't take advantage of multi-core processors. Allok is just too simplified and doesn't allow bitrate choice.

But nice to note that video bitrate doesn't seem to affect the video playback in 5800....so it's the choice of encoder that matters more.

Added on January 21, 2009, 3:48 pmi'm using winmenc for my mkv conversion...only good for those with AC3 soundtrack. dts sound will go out of sync.

set to highest cpu priority and double multi-threading, i'm getting around 1:1 encoding timing for a 1280x720 mkv.

i can imagine for allok it's gonna take damn long.....since it already takes so long to convert my MGS4 trailers.
