Or also can use Y-Browser. Plus Y-Browser can also be used to hide folders (but no password protection) so that if you use the standard file manager, you won't see the the hidden folder. The contents inside the hidden folder also cannot be seen through other apps such as the gallery app, the video center app or the real player app. But if you click on the file inside y-browser, it wil still open with the relevant app.

QUOTE(jpaq @ Jan 21 2009, 10:55 AM)
I had an interesting and frustrating experience at the NCC at 1U yesterday.

I sent in my phone to fix the earpiece problem. Ok, went back in 2 hours and it was done. They told me they had replaced (???) the earpiece. Ok, great, new earpiece! Then they asked me to check the phone. So I long pressed "1" on the dialpad to call my voicemail to test the sound from the earpiece. The next thing I know, the phone shut down by itself! I was like, WTF?! I did it again (switch on fone and long press "1") in front of the NCC staff another 3 times, each time the fone shut down by itself.

So they immediately got the technicians to attend to this problem. It took them another 1 hour to fix the problem while I waited there all the time. Finally fixed the problem (the staff told me not sure what technical problem and they had 2 technicians working on it then!). Then I noticed the top right corner of my screen protector was peeled off a bit. Can't stick back properly again. Again, WTF?! But luckily, it was only a very little bit, so i decided to let it go. The staff told me it must have happened when the technician was checking the touch screen. Most importantly, the fone was fixed. Luckily the SP I bought was the Skool one and it only cost me RM18.

Then balik. This morning, took out my fone to give it a good cleaning and wipe down. Then only I noticed another problem, finger marks UNDER the screen. For the third time in 24 hours, "WTF?!" Dem frust! I am gonna go back today and f*** them nicely today.

Same thing happened to me. I went back then I noticed that there is black dust inside the screen. In the end, had to DIY to get it out. Very unprofessional. doh.gif

Shld have gone back there to give them a piece of your mind! Really unacceptable standards. After servicing, the phone should be at least like before if not better condition, not create another problem or get it dirtier! Its like taking your car for oil change but the mechanic leaves dirt inside your carberateur or something!

i found out our camera button sometimes very difficult to press, too soft d... but the garmin usually require down key more than up key

so it is better to swap the center menu key with the camera key in the keymap file ;p

How do we swap the key? I agreed that the it is difficult too. Even using volume button up and down also not that convenient.

music playing sure less processing power and the screen is dim out after a while. It saved lots of battery and sure make a difference from video playback sweat.gif

software cant help much, it just the setting/resolution u choose will help

video converting is more depending on your processor, good if u own a quad core / i7 8 cores  icon_rolleyes.gif
with a 4870x2 or GTX 280 at least , then u will see improvements  thumbup.gif
*
encoding is still dependent on cpu speed....grapics card only deal with decoding for now

Err... Wat i meant is even if the light is dimmed off, but i don't think it can achieve 35 hours of music playback as stated. Never try b4 listening to 35 hours of music playback though. Haha ~ nod.gif

One little problem with this method of using the camera though.... you won't be able to "half press" the cam button for focusing before fully pressing in for the shot.

Hei Conversion from AVI to MP4 is take reasonable time...

but to convert mkv to MP4 really takes lotsa of time...

tried many converter but most of the converter take more than hours to convert mkv to MP4...

any software recommend for a faster conversion?

Added on January 21, 2009, 11:14 am

Converting time for the SUPER is too long....still the total converter is the fastest interm of converting...
*
i use allok for all other input formats, and winmenc for mkv.

allok manages to convert all without jerky playback, but settings not much adjustment allowed. even bitrates more than 2700+ play fine. filesizes are large for superb settings, but no 2-pass encoding allowed. still looking for one that allows.... sad.gif

winmenc converts HD mkv/rm/avi fast and fine, but for some quicktime and mp4 the converted result plays fine on pc, but jerky on 5800.

but i think that the half press auto focus function is pretty useless. coz when u touch the "capture" icon on the screen, it will focus first n capture as well. Am i correct?

I read some review stating that the icon for capturing is useless as it did not focus 1st b4 capturing. They said it will be better off if the icon is replaced with the scene mode (close-up, landscape and so on). Dunno true or not. tongue.gif
