QUOTE(buyou12 @ Jan 19 2009, 04:36 PM) Gaigene, which NCC did you go to that told u its only 2 hours fix? I feel like getting mine done as well. I went to 1Utama NCC, and they did fix it within 2 hrs. But he also said that it depends on how many machines they have to fix on that day. I arrived there at 5.30pm and got my tube back at about 7.30pm...... He also said that the technician cleaned the inside of the unit. The earpiece problem no longer there but I felt that the earpiece is now louder and also the touch screen more sensitive. Maybe it is just me..... I dunno..... |

QUOTE(ridzyroo @ Jan 19 2009, 11:31 PM) my box still says its the 1st batch...and I checked the IMEI, it was made in the Emirates My unit says its from Emirates.... and i dun think the quality is bad.... I have had no problems with my unit so far. Only sent it to NCC yesterday too fix the earpiece problem (which I never had) just to be safe... either than that.... no problem also. Since I have bought it, I've never even turn off the phone.... only at NCC yesterday..... so I kinda disagree with saying the if it is manufactured in Emirates the quality is bad.....Type * # 06 # After you enter the code you will see a new code contain 15 digits: 43 4 5 6 6 1 0 6 7 8 9 4 3 5 IF the digit number Seven & Eight is 02 or 20 that mean it was assembled in the Emirates which is very Bad quality :~ ( IF the digit number Seven & Eight is 08 or 80 that mean its manufactured in Germany which is not bad IF the digit number Seven & Eight is 01 or 10 that mean its manufactured in Finland which is Good IF the digit number Seven & Eight is 00 that mean its manufactured in France which is the best Mobile Quality .... :~) don't know the trueness of this tho =) Added on January 20, 2009, 11:10 am QUOTE(freeman1314 @ Jan 20 2009, 11:04 AM) Yup i like it too but too bad it takes too long to change into full screen qwerty. and to switch back still need to wait.I'm the impatient type of guy. It actually does not take very long. Maybe a couple of seconds. Its fine for me..... But as they say, whatever work for you.... keep it that way.... QUOTE(buyou12 @ Jan 20 2009, 11:46 AM) I have also sent my Tube to Bangsar NCC. The salesperson gave me the worst case scenario saying that they will fix whatever they can and if they can't they will send it to Menara BGI to get it fixed. Thats a really weird scenario. Because I just sent mine in to NCC 1U yesterday. No problems at all. Got it back in 2 hrs..... Anyways, did u just send it in for the earpiece problem or were there other issues with your tube?He then made no promise they it will return before CNY if they do send it over. What's more they won't even inform me if they send it over so more or less now I am taken for a ride. Somemore I am going to lose all my settings again. I just hope the restore function works. All the pain i went thru yesterday to get Garmin installed.......May have to do it again now. I have sent it in at about 10:20 something just now. Still no news now. Makes me wonder should I have saved all these hassle and relied on the DIY formula? |

Hi, just found this ......
"For those of you who have already managed to get your hands on the latest from Nokia, the 5800 XpressMusic, here's a nice little tip to add some eye-candy. By default this is turned off and pretty difficult to find. Go to: Tools, Personal, Themes, General and choose "Options." Now set the Theme effects to "On." The UI will be a bit less responsive, but it does add some pretty nice effect." Not sure if you guys know this already..... I just turned it on.... pretty cool..... |

QUOTE(jpaq @ Jan 21 2009, 12:11 PM) Shld have gone back there to give them a piece of your mind! Really unacceptable standards. After servicing, the phone should be at least like before if not better condition, not create another problem or get it dirtier! Its like taking your car for oil change but the mechanic leaves dirt inside your carberateur or something! I just checked my unit. Luckily did not have any dirt or finger prints....... I also sent it to NCC 1U. |

I just realised something on the tube. When you create a group in contacts and you assign the group a specific ringer tone to that group for all its members, there is a problem. When the member of that group calls, the ringer tone is back to the default nokia tone. But if you assign ringer tones to individual contacts, then got no problem. I tried this for 2 days already.
Anyone here face this problem? |
