Hey guys, I'm just wondering whether there are any soccer clubs that I can play at in Melbourne. I'm going to stay at West Melbourne (near Vic Market), so anywhere near there would be great..~ if there is any..

Guys I'll be studying in Mel U Feb intake, any apartments to recommend for 3-4 people? Must be nearby Uni, fully furnished, preferably rental around 200-250 per person per week including utilities.

dear seniors here, i need some opinions smile.gif
I'm currently a 2nd yr chemical engineering student(next semester will be my 2nd sem of yr 2) at monash sunway campus. I planned to transfer to australia in July 2010. Is it advisable to transfer to U of Adelaide? or just directly transfer to monash Clayton campus? I'm considering the cheaper fees in Adelaide, as well as the cheaper living cost. Somemore I have relatives staying there too. But i wonder will i get full credit transfer to Adelaide? anyone did something like that before?
Thanks for your opinions!

Is it normal for one to start paying rent end of Jan eventhough he arrived there on the second week of feb?

It sounds ridiculous for me, but I wonder if it is how it works. Now it's like buying durian, renting a room that I haven't seen it with my eyes.

Then some peoples said, if I start looking for room when I reach there, most of the nice rooms will be occupied, left those expensive or not so nice 1.

Anyone experience this?

Do you normally look for room only when you reach?

What I'm concern here is, will it be too late if I start looking at the rooms when I reach, because I heard that most lease start end of jan, unless no one pick it up.

It depends, i suggest you apply ASAP and provide all the necessary documents so that you can get an answer fast.
You might NOT get all the credit transfers though since Uni Adelaide revamped the course credits, aka more workload and longer exam especially for engineering.

It depends, usually for hostel you have to pay the " booking fees". Usually it's 50 - 80% of the weekly rent before you arrived.

If you're still new - preferably stay in the hostel for at least 1 semester to get familiarize...

Any friends over there? If yes, do get them to help you check around. My friends usually get someone to help them rent a room beforehand.

That's really interesting. I have always wondered whether old results can be used for Visa application purposes. When did you do your last Visa?

about a year ago. Think it's valid for a year, and since mine's not reached a year, so they used the old results for the new application. Kinda shocking for me too, as this is the first time I've encountered such situation. =) but it's all good.

congrats! But how come you need to reapply for a visa? I thought the visa they gave us is for the duration of our studies in the uni? For me, they gave me 2 years + 3 months.

onelove changed course/uni twice........started in perth in another course, switched to ucsi medicine, and now going to utas for medicine.......

a new visa is required whenever you have a change in your course..........as the student visa is course and uni specific........
