But usually studio they allow only one person stay wor. Unless you find a Studio with 2 beds. 

U rmit rite? Why dun try unilodge, since u're sharing, not cheap but reasonable    I've book a place in unilodge on campus but only got studio one bed type

my father is quite strict on the 20kg as well.. guess he is just like the officers at the airport. he said it would be very expensive to exceed the limit. well, i am just bringing clothes, 1 pair of shoes , 1 pair of throngs and some files and stationary.. would not have any big problems
hopefully the students there are not required to wear formal clothes during every classes. back here in malaysia, we are required to do so

actually from my experience in melbourne. they will not allow you to book/reserve/rent the place unless the person that is going to stay (YOU) have inspected the place.

when i was moving out of the apt. some people came to look at the place with the agent and a girl wanted to apply, and said she was sharing with 2 other people. the agent didnt let her apply because her other 2 roommates wernt there to look at the place. this is due to roommates arguing and in the end cancelling the whole rental process. i cant say this is the same for every agency or whatever but. its something i thought you should know. maybe you can email them and find out first or something like that.

Just to clarify so I can edit the front page: what do you actually do to get the extra 10KG? Show them you are a student during booking, or at the check-in counter, or both? And what documentation do you show: COE, Student visa, or what?

Yes you can but you need to declare it in the quarantine once you arrived there . Take note that in your declaration form , You gotta fill them up too .
