QUOTE(zstan @ Jan 19 2012, 06:23 PM) During your 5th year 1st semester it is compulsory for all students to go to Australia... Because you said :For Monash is guaranteed 6 months... for IMU you are talking about 'chances'... which point is moot...? QUOTE MBBS (Monash) for the better networking opportunities and better student ratio and the chance to go to Australia but paying Malaysian fees. I'm curious about the student ratio thing. Since the number per intake is now 150 and IMU local only have about 70 seats, shouldnt the ratio be better after the PMS people are gone? |

So if the AMC/Australia 3 months thingy is out of the picture.. it boils down to teaching staff, student ratio, clinical schools and the difference is cost, right?
Are there any other jarring difference that I need to be aware of? |

Number of facilities...especially the histo lab and library.....as well as amount of parking slots and printing machines..Are there any other jarring difference that I need to be aware of? You also don't have to wear formal everyday which saves money and time hand washing and ironing... Lecturers are mostly local.... And of course the opportunity to network with other people from courses outside of health sciences... |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Jan 21 2012, 06:30 AM) Well that's what the admission officer told me. "If you're taking the local degree and want to do attachment to any of the partner schools for 3 months, we have agreement that you can." Not verbatim of course. that sounds like electives......which is in the prograrmme of almost all med schools and one can do it anywhere, and is mostly used by students as a holiday to visit a place they likely will not visit otherwise,,,,,usually 3rd world students want to visit the 1st world,,,,and vice versa..... very different from monash msia's compulsory exposure to aussie medical environment as required by amc rules..... Their Quota is 150. but I doubt try manage to fill it up every year. The most also 120 for last year. usually 3rd world students want to visit the 1st world,,,,and vice versa..... very different from monash msia's compulsory exposure to aussie medical environment as required by amc rules.....
