The country is going to be churning out 5000 to 6000 medical graduates every year, so you do the math!

you still have to work for the gov for the first 5 years. so doesn't make a difference. After that, then you decide for yourself. =) I heard that a lot of the govn doctors are doing part time in private hospitals. so... that'll tell you something.

I think it's still possible to apply for JPA after your Alvls. so you can try, cant guarantee you getting it.

Was at JPA today. Noted that for Ipts, only MMU, Uniten and UTP applications will be considered. Overseas unis yet to be decided[top 20 previously ]. Also conditions for SPM or undergraduate level for overseas not decided yet. Prepared for flip flop decisions due to pressure groups.

By the time people entering med school now graduate, one may be grateful for a guaranteed job with the gov.......and some may be jobless......

As for roi......it is frightening to think how doctors may behave in future in order to 'get back their money'.......

I am not that negative abt the situation though and believe that things would still work out. It's just that the gomen has to be more proactive than it is now. I am more worried abt the civil service remuneration scheme bankrupting the country.

I am all for any step taken to enhance the medical professsion. The MIA and the Engineers association has done a pretty good job.

So what is all this hushed-up 1Care policy that's to be implemented?

A doctor (specialist) commented that the standard of the medical profession in the country, in particular, ethics, "has gone to to the dogs", and his advice was "if you want to study medicine in the country, DON'T, and if you want to study medicine overseas, don't come back!

If this Icare is implemented in countries like Bhutan then I have no qualms about it.

But we are talking about Malaysia where the rulers are our great BN. All these just tells me the government coffers are nearly dried up and can no longer subsidise the current public health system and they are trying to milk more money from the public to fund their own personal needs.

Voucher for my campus (MSU-IMS Bangalore) has arrived~

Other medical students (IPTS) in India (eg: Manipal etc) - do take note of this~

Ask your college to bring this voucher to you since registered Malaysian students studying in IPTS/IPTA are eligible to get this~
It is the IPTS responsibility to give this voucher to you.

Need help here.

Can you please suggest the best place to take A-level (in terms of recognitions and stuff)? Did some research and a lot came up, so a bit confused now.

hi guys! smile.gif
i'm currently waiting 4 my spm results
n after reading and reading and searching for the past few months,
i'm totally confused and unsure on what i should do next.
i really want to continue my studies in medicine but
which and what should i do?
with all the choices and different courses.
different universities and such. i'm just baffled.
is it better for me to go for a foundation/ should i opt for a-levels
whilst for my degree, which uni and course should i go for?
i have a senior in the MSU-IMS programme and she says that its awesome over there,
my grandaunt herself is a lecturer in IMU and she says that IMU in not so bad,
on the other hand my mum is saying that i should go to MONASH.
and after reading all that there is, i'm just getting more and more unsure.

You've got another step more (A-levels/STPM/Matric/etc) before getting into any degree program...~
Consider this step first...
