Ismail Merican is in Mahsa. Let's see what changes he will bring to Mahsa and set a higher standard for other IPTS to follow.

Alliance is blowing a lot of hot air and doing massive advertising BUT it seems that only a certain community makes up the enrolment.

He is in Mahsa? aaa...
Is he still involved in MMC?

On another note... I'm considering to add USM-KLE Medical program in this thread... It seems that USM is behaving somewhat like IPTS already...

They are now openly inviting applications from the public which is very IPTS-like behaviour~ laugh.gif

The cost of the program is USD 100k. (see below)

at the moment no. they are using KLES Hospital as well.
There are rumours about them building a new hospital to accommodate future students though.
From what i'm seeing now is that my current first year juniors have 200 students in a batch now.
Plus the students from the USM-KLE campus...its gonna get really packed in that hospital.

That is what I thought. It will be crowded for both JNMC's and KLE-USM's students. The Indian Govt. hospitals are off-limits for Private Medical colleges, same is happening in MS Ramaiah Medical college. We are currently using nearby Hospitals and their resources for our training.

Added on January 9, 2012, 7:58 pm... an update;

MSU's first batch of medical students from MSU-IMS Bangalore have graduated (JAN 2012)

Serve the nation, Queen tells MSU grads

SHAH ALAM: The Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Haminah Hamidun, has called on the pioneer batch of Management and Science University (MSU) medical graduates to serve the nation by helping to alleviate the shortage of doctors in the country.

She also urged all 60 Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree graduates to serve the community professionally.

“I am proud indeed that today MSU has succeeded in producing its first batch of medical graduates with the International Medical School (IMS) in Bangalore, India,” said Tuanku Haminah Hamidun, the chancellor of MSU, at the university’s 10th convocation here yesterday.

MAHSA and Masterskill both have no graduates yet. They'll be "assessed" after the first batch of graduates are out.

Btw was at the education fair just now. "Foundation" programs are heavily pushed by most colleges. MAHSA even said, come in January, do express foundation for 8 months and you can enter the med program in September.

For 2012 the cut off point needed is 3.0 .. but apparently MMC is not too happy with the "foundation" route and requires 3.5 from 2013 onwards.

Fee for MAHSA is 300k now (WOW!)..

There was a booth for QIUP but since I know how they came about, I decided to avoid the booth altogether. Had a sickening feeling about even stopping by and asking for more info..

then they will just re-mark the same students and the same exam, and award 3.5......who's going to monitor this?.... smile.gif

many ipts med schools which did not bother with their own 'foundation' progremmes before, have now decided to introduce it, after their enrolment took a nose drive with the mmc guideline introduced earlier in 2011.......

yeah lots of illegal immigrants and problems with them there. These three places are rather small though, will they get enough clinical exposure? Nice sceneries though =P
