actually...im having problem with my Toby...
whenever i wan to pet his back, he will be turn his head and try to hold my hand... looks like wan to climb my hand...Toph does that sometimes...and i will just let him climb....

So when Toby did that, i just waited for him to climb on my hand...tengok2 when he looked like preparing to climb....suddenly he bite me! aduih... happened maybe 2wice already...

make me feel scared to leave my hand there... he doesn't look frightened/untame....if i put him on my palms...he's very calm...just that...he likes to bite me! like want to taste my hand can eat or not...

once...my finger got a bit of blood... i always make sure my hands do not smell like food...but result is still the same...

wat should i do?

Mean your Toby is not fully tame. It's happening for my TimTim also. He will rush to my hand and bite me. Just recently he has become like that. Last time he doesn't bite.

Try calling his name first before putting your hand in. Also prepare some snack to give when he is about to bite. This will distract him from biting.

Happened to me b4. When they turn their back on you it becomes defensive n thinks that something is attacking it from behind, or so i think.

Try approaching it using your hands from the front, that way they can see its your hands so it knows you are there, and then you can touch/carry/hold him. Hope that works! smile.gif

You should let the fella get used to his new home and environment first. This will take a few days to 1 week.

Try talking to him first so that he will get used to you. Then slow put your hand in tank so he can get used to your hand also. When he climbs on your hands then mean he trust you. Also try hand feeding him treats.

Don't simply go grab him or he will bite you. Once he bite and he knows you're scared, he will keep on biting.

Hamsters sleep during the day and wakes up at night. They are more active at night.

They will eat while sleeping also.

They don't even remove the dead hamster and don't know when is the last time they clean the cage. I got one source of hamster mainly robo but bout one month once got the supply. All in good condition. PM me for the address.

It's in Mentari Park opposite of Sunway Pyramid. Just go the McD, It's just the block behind the McD near the steamboat restaurant.

Yup! All the big pet shops are like that. You should those poor hamster in Pets Safari. They are overcrowded there. Don't know how many hamster per tank.

Some of the hamster breeders here have gone quiet. Becareful though there are a few bad apples in here breeding hamster too.

hey, i'm new here! i have a syrian, which is probably 2 momths old. recently i created a hamster forum. i thought it wud be great to ask you'll to join it. since singapore,uk and us have their own forum, why don't we have one?

the forum is categorised into syrians, dwarfs, health section and even a section to post pictures. there's barely any member there. so, why don't you join and make it active.
this forum ensure your questions with answers and gives EVERYONE chance to post their ideas. here's the link http://sharkhams.heavenforum.com/index.htm
view it and let me knw your feedback.

Hi all,

Noob question coming up, recently one of my gf's robos died. We plan to get another one, but we're not sure of the sex of the remaining one. It won't let us hold it, so i only managed to get the photo below (apologies for the low quality). Would like to know if the hamster is a guy or gal. user posted image

Thanks!

p.s: Will be getting a same sex one and hopefully they won't fight...
