I wanted to test it also. At least the 5speed auto-gearbox should give a better kick than old city VTEC kua.
Whenever I rev my mom VTEC City, with the CVT, really like dun feel the kick lor. I think no need rev till 7k la. Max torque at 6600rpm ma if you see City catalogue. The older one, I dont even bother rev past 6000rpm.

Hard for the SAs to jump queue.. cos HM has this thing called the Honda Dealers Management System or something where you actually key in the booking, so if somebody cancels their booking.. the person after him will be bumped up next in line.

Maybe can intercept and cut queue, but I dunno possible or not..

Let us know when you have booked, okay?
You'll be #31 at LYN Honda City Club..hehe (though I think we should think of a better name)  drool.gif

It's good that you were able to reach 7k RPM. I wasn't able to hit > 4k 'cos of the busy road. Anybody know when does the iVtec opens?
the SA told me 5400rpm the iVtec opens, dont know how true it is, cause never get to test wink.gif

someone mentioned previous CVT 7-speed save more petrol?? is it true, i heard some other peoples said the previous 1 is fake 7-speed biggrin.gif so the new city 5-speed should save more petrol compare to previous CVT 7-speed

QUOTE(icetea @ Dec 29 2008, 03:54 AM)
Just had a look @ it yesterday. Is it just me or the quality of the car ain't up to Honda standards (comparing against the older City)?

1) Interior door handles very plastic like. Pressing the power window switch gave the cheap like feeling (even a Proton Persona is better)
2) The gaps between the door handle plastic is not neat, pressing it down gave the squeaky plastic sound.
3) Closing the doors did not gave the vacuum sound, it clunks like a proton saga door.
4) The engine is annoyingly loud from the inside.
5) The body of the car, knocking it gave a Proton Saga sound.
Note: This is my rough personal review on the Honda City 2009 E-Spec with Modulo Kit. Priced at almost Rm 90k (even though it is assembled in Melaka, Malaysia), in my humble opinion, this car ain't worth for its new looks and quality. Hope some of my questions or review can be answered to be clarified. No bashing though, just want clarification on those review points. I am not a proton fan nor toyota etc. just want a quality for the priced car.

Not Bashing stuff rite icon_rolleyes.gif

Point 3- That's not true.

Point 4- Did you test drive the car? and also have you tried Vios as well?

Point 5- Have you tried to knock a Toyota Harrier body before? Don't go far, try MyVi or even Kelisa as well.

Pls do give feedback , TQ

If not mistaken cvt is more batter i think.

cvt is mean for smooth gear changing...

on fuel i think should be batter because they break the gear ration to have lesser gap between the gear.

correct me if i am wrong....

It is true, since CVT offers almost infinite gear ratio. As a result, the gear ratio will be adjusted according to the engine rotation and thus provides the optimum power without compromising fuel consumption.

lol wad?
Malaysian mentality... Just because they can't "feel the gear change" they said it's a fake 7 speeder. sweat.gif CVTs changes gears seamlessly and one might not be able notice it, even during heavy acceleration.

icetea's comments about the new Honda City is uncalled for and is tantamount to bashing the City. icetea, are you a Toyota or Proton diehard supporter? Please don't make baseless comments in this forum.
Point 1: Not true. Interior door handle and power window switch are all right and have better quality than Proton Persona.
Point 2: Not true. There is no squeaky sound when you press it down
Point 3. Not true. How can you compare Honda City door closing sound
with Proton Saga door closing sound? City's doors close with a solid sound while Saga's doors close with a hollow sound.
Point 4. Not true. Have you test driven the City? I have and when I drive it, I cannot hear the engine sound from the inside. The only sound I can hear is the tyre sound moving on the road.
Point 5. Not true. Please knock on the body of the Saga and you will hear a hollow sound. Knock on the body of the City and you can hear a hard solid sound. Please don't compare Honda City with Proton Saga. Don't compare an orange with an apple because they are both very different and are in different categories. The same goes for Honda and Proton. There is no comparison between Honda and Proton or in this case there is no comparision between Honda City and Proton Saga. How can you compare a 1.5 RM85K car with a 1.3 RM31K car? Please don't be ridiculous, icetea!

Added on December 29, 2008, 10:04 pmCan we ask Honda to install the autolock feature in the new City and pay them? I wonder what is the cost of installing the autolock feature at Honda. Hopefully it is not too expensive.

Err, Steven, actually the City and Saga is in the same category, B segment sedan. Just that the pricing level is different only.

Blame our F**Ked up car policy system for the usual B segment vs C segment scenario.

Yeah, I have pressed Myvi's body. The metal sinks in and then goes back to normal. Same goes to Saga. On the other hand, I tried to press my 2005 Honda City i-DSI's door very hard and guess what? The metal cannot sink in. It just remains as it is. Shows that the body is tough and solid. icetea is not welcome to give his baseless comments about the new Honda City in this respected forum. I really don't like Proton cars. Now you can get a Saga on the spot. Ready stock. What does this show? I don't have to tell you all. You can figure out for yourself. Proton sales are badly hit by the economic slowdown. On the other hand, there have been more than 3,000 bookings for new City. Is it true that there have been cancellations for the Vios?

Very minimal not really noticable. When the cars are designed etc, Honda would've calculated the best setup to ensure that both Specs are equal in terms of performance

i was amazed to see such beauty on city, real drool! yet, being a year 2006 city idsi owner before, the 2009 city seems slightly underpower though. couldn't explain y...reaction seemed 'slower' despite being i-vtec...still, it has substance & stlye over vios imo...congrats to u lucky soon-to-be city fellas!

Never mind, it's a long wait for all of us.
I'm kickin' myself for booking the S-Spec first. Should have just put E-Spec in the first place. Now got 2 months extra waiting period

its not the average 16" cos this one is optimized for best FC which explains the irregular tire size. perhaps lighter which is almost on par to the 15".

hmm its very rare for ppl to rev their engine exceeding 5k rpm, unless those heavy footers like to drag from first gear. normally the average range of highly rev is about 3k to 4k. besides, its 5 gears transmission so it should have even smaller gear ratio between gears rite? goreng...correct me if im wrong! laugh.gif

hmm according to my SA, HM prefer to keep the original styling of the optimus prime grille which is why they didnt bring in the modulo grille. its something like an identity or image to the All-New City.
