can use up to 3 years will do

Bluray? i bet you wont use it. cuz review back youself, how many original DVD you buy b4? if none, then i hardly see the way to go into bluray world

Acer quality? crap! I was acer user b4
another thing, i have a fren using almost same acer as you describe, bluray, 16", battery life like crap! 1 hours, that's all!
screen viewing angle is shxx! maybe you can go to understand why ACER does make cheap laptop, and what kind of component quality they use.
and it's very very very heavy, make you dont even thinking of bring everywhere

you rather go for Sony Vaio FW instead

The question here is not whether you would use Blu-ray or buy original Blu-rays, but a question of choice. Even if Apple decline to support Blu-ray (or its playback), at least provide the option as a BTO. Otherwise, you'll see people who uses Apple/Mac OS X resorting to playing .mkv files, most probably pirated/ripped from original Blu-ray contents. Is Apple encouragng piracy?

The Apple I know supports and embraces emerging technologies. Blu-ray fits into that description. What happened?

haha brother, i wanted to stop thinking...but whenever i visit Apple shop...my mind start flying around, looking at MB, MBP and MBA even iMac they are sooo gorgeous laugh.gif

been goggling alot and i think i'll stick back to MBP "la" since that is the maximum tolerate size for portable laptop, well~ since i don’t really utilize the functions. Just because the larger screen alwiz catch my eye side...cant resists to stop looking at it... rolleyes.gif

So far did Macrumors mention they will unable the dual SLI mode / without soft resetting your laptop to change the graphic card?

And where can i search for the comparison chart for MB VCS MBP performance (benchmark for speed/video encoding..etc)

On the other hand, 1 good news for me rolleyes.gif my company has joined the APPLE Corporate Employee Purchase Program. yahoo thumbup.gif start buying n spending hahaha whistling.gif worth of getting 24" cinematic display?
user posted image

So far there's no special discount for Mac City/ Machines at the moment...im waiting for free 4GB Apple Certified Ram, maybe Chinese new yr promotion? wink.gif

btw, what u do most on your MBP? really just surfing the net and watch movies? video encoding can i say converting the video from any file (.mkv/rm/rmvb/ .avi) --> .Mp4?

Hi, just get myself Apple MacBook 2.4Ghz yesterday. 1st time Mac user here. So, please mind my noobness notworthy.gif .

Got it for RM5899. Miss the Christmas promotion coz of long company holiday but the sales person nice enough to give me some freebies : CaseLogic Neoprene sleeve + Capdase Keyboard sleeve + Mouse (for XP use tongue.gif ) + 4GB Tumb drive. Good enough for me coz never like the Belkin messenger bag. Going to buy Deuter Backpack instead thumbup.gif .

Nway, my 1st question. I already found out that need to buy Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to connect to LCD TV/Monitor, but I'm not sure to buy which one

Hi!
I'm new here.
I've been considering getting a mac for a while now. But something has been bugging me. Its the Performance-to-price ratio.
The mac i've been considering is the macbook 13'' unibody(which is 4799)
The thing is, on my way to the Apple store, i saw this acer notebook at 4499 but with 90gb more hd space, a 9600m GT, "Blu-Ray"!!!, and a 16'' full hd screen.

I intend to make this a desktop replacement so i'm asking whether the macbook would be worth it?
*
as u are making this a desktop replacement, then i would say go for acer...

yes, the battery life suk, but as a desktop replacement, does it matter??

yes, screen suk too, mostly bcoz of the viewing angle, but it still a HD and 16:9 ratio screen, good for watching video huh??
yes, bluray seem useless if u seldom buy bluray disc... but why jz think it as a extra feature?? more future proof huh??

For a desktop replacement i will go for higher spec and larger screen. Performance to price ratio, i think u adi noe the answer smile.gif

acer is a crap?? haha, maybe... i'm own a acer lappy b4 too, go for hospital once, bcoz of mobo overheat.. Is a human mistake, i leave it on bed when i'm playing game , lol...
as long as u take care of your gadget, i dont think it will easily spoil la... why everyone saying tat mac quality is better?? yes, maybe bcoz we are paying premium price, but 1 thing for sure is tat u will pay more attention on ur mac, clean it everyweek, move it carefully, protect it with skin, hard case and bla bla bla...

Last, and the most important... OSX!!!

jz my opinion la bro, tat ur money, u hv to decide urself.. all we can do jz gc opinion..
