QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Jun 22 2009, 10:36 PM) you'll get your logic board replaced as the gc is soldered to it. Your HDD is connected to the logic board via the sata connectors, so once the new logic board is connected to the chasis and the HDD connected to the Logic Board, its as good as new. As in, all the data on my hard drive will be wiped?

Ah, alright. Thanks! Yeah, I use Time Machine for my backup purposes, so that should be alright. ETA: Don't want to double-post, so I'm sticking this here. I sent my MBP to Machines at City Square this morning. They'll be sending it to KL at the end of the week for repair. I should get it back within the next two weeks. *crosses fingers* This post has been edited by equustel: Jun 23 2009, 01:58 PM

dvlzplayground: Yeah, I saw posts on other forums about this issue prior to Apple's official acknowledgement, and they were like, "The cost would be [insert exorbitant amount here]. I'd just be better off getting a new laptop."

QUOTE(chypher @ Jun 27 2009, 10:32 PM) If I buy the retail pack how many times can I use it? What do u mean by how many times can be used? If u meant how many macs can be installed with the retail pack, the answer should be one.

I was wondering. Is it possible to create a partition on the macbook pro's harddisk so it acts as a time machine backup?
