by then, we can hav cheap iPhone, iz better to hav the whole apple line in malaysia
then we can hav our stuff faster n cheaper
*
having a company to manufacture apple stuff? its not possible, the cost of raw material is damn high, prices of raw alu in malaysia will give you a perspective how much expensive the apple notebooks gonna be. Oesnt matter where apple products are made,as long as the QC is strict i am okay with it. WD closed on of its companies in Sarawak, reason being its expensive to make their product in Malaysia.

having not to include those items definitely will help Apple to reduce their selling price indirectly. And/or perhaps, those items may be are not so useful to certain people...

Just my 2 cents.

Went to smart bar in bangkok di other day and they inspect my mac for dead pixels.

And they told me it's not dead pixel and they asked me to look closely with the small binocular and it was 2 X5mm long dust inside the screen.

They told me to call the apple hotline to fight for a new mac.Lol.

The price for a

Macbook Pro 13" 2.26Ghz ( 2GB Ram )= RM 4499 ( NEW ! )
Macbook 13" 2.40Ghz ( 2GB Ram ) = RM 4899 ( Drop from 5899 )

The OVERALL performance benchmark score ( Using Speedmark 5 | Test conducted by Macworld )

Macbook 13" Pro 2GB 2.26Ghz = 215
Macbook 13" 2GB 2.40Ghz = 215
The SAME???!!!

So before you all go and buy a 13" macbook think about it - get more bang for the bucks and ditch the old model lah.
Some ppl just buy the old model bcos the price dropped RM1000. Now you know why aaa....

Awesome. I turned on my MacBook Pro this evening, and all I got was a black screen. Waiting a while and tinkering around with volume settings suggested that it did boot, but I'm not getting any video output.

I suppose it's become a victim of the renowned faulty NVIDIA 8600M FGT graphics processor. UGH. The only Mac store I've got around me is Machines at City Square, JB; should be fine since I bought it from Machines at Midvalley Megamall. I should be sending it in either tomorrow or on Wednesday. Thank goodness I've got extended AppleCare.

Or the entire logic board, as I've read from various articles about the same problem. sad.gif But I do hope it'll take that long, and not any more than.

Assuming the logic board has to be replaced, will my hard drive be compromised in any way? I do have Time Machine backups, but I'm still a little concerned over whether they'd do anything to my hard drive.

you'll get your logic board replaced as the gc is soldered to it. Your HDD is connected to the logic board via the sata connectors, so once the new logic board is connected to the chasis and the HDD connected to the Logic Board, its as good as new.
