LOL? What makes u think ps3 is more powerful? Ps3 have 8 cores CPU doesnt mean it is powerful. Same like amd, phenom quad core doesnt mean it is more powerful than intel core 2 duo. graphics card also. xbox 360 and ps3 using totally different architecture, how can u say ps3 more powerful?
*
AFAIK , both of them are using RISC/PowerPC ports. So technically speaking , they are running on the same processor , its just that there are some differences in how things are handled in both platforms. That's processor wise that we are talking

Something to share ere...

Xbox 360 jasper
power brick = 150 watt ___12v = 12.1 amp
manufacturing date = 23-10-2008
lot number = 0843X where 08 stands for year while 43 for weeks

less power consumption, less heat, less TNB bills
may the jasper be with u nod.gif

refer : http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/Ek...yyZZXEKjatA.php
*
now i realise the date was my birth date except for the 08.coincidence

Looking at the MFG date isn't the most ideal option to spot a Jasper.

IMO the most ideal way (which I have posted in another thread) is by looking at the connector on the console side. However this does prove to be useless if you can't open the box without buying first. So the next method is to look for a 12.1A rating on the sticker at the back of the console through the box.

I thought the Jaspers that have been verified so far have manufacturing dates of October 08 onwards? I don't think it's August. My Falcon is 24/8/08.

it's not 100%, there's bound to be some overlap, especially since there's multiple mfg teams and they'll start building japsers in turns.

I don't think they'll jack it up that high. Otherwise nobody would want it.

Unless your power brick is 150w then it is NOT a jasper. The first batch of 60GB are all Falcon. Please do not spread false info.

this is completely correct.
1) there are different manufacturing lines, like team FDOU and team CSON and so on. these lines are not going to all switch to jasper production at the same time on the same day. as per typical manufacturing processes, usually one line will be refurbished first, and that's where we're seeing the first jaspers from. it's a staggered transition, so manufacturing date should only be used as a very loose guideline, not a definite reference.

2) as it stands, the split pin connector design was done completely for jasper units, so the 150w bricks cannot be used for falcons or xenons or zephyrs due to the higher current draw of the older consoles.

3) similarly, a 12.1A rating on the rear of the console is exclusive to jaspers, as with their 65nm process, they require less current to power the system. 14.1A was the rating for falcons and older.

there have been confirmed 12.1A jasper consoles shipped with 175w bricks.

175w bricks will work with jasper, as well as falcons.
150w bricks will ONLY work with jasper.
that's why the 150w brick connector has the split pin design, it'll mate with a jasper female socket, but not a falcon one.

this is not false info, and has been derived from several sources that have provided photographic evidence tongue.gif

So you are saying that there are Jasper units in the first batch of the 60GB model then...? Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that there are SOME sellers claim that their 360s are all Jasper unit which cannot be confirmed at all unless they remove the heatsink to verify it. This is an irresponsible method of selling your console because there is no definite answer on how to verify your unit unless it comes with a 150w adapter which almost guarantee that it is a jasper unit.
