If I can't get the Education discount, I'll just ask him to pay the extra cash tsk tsk tsk.... speaking of being ungrateful.... consider yourself lucky - having a dad forking out his blood sweat and tears to get a toy for his stupid and ungrateful son... Dudes, I'm using my money to buy the laptop. All my father needs to do is just to order it for me. I guess he can't even do that can he? Consider yourselves way luckier than me Edit: Nvm, save your breath. It's my fault for calling my father stupid. Wasn't thinking right, stressed. Anyway thanks for the help. So I can't really get the Education thingy? Sorry again for the bad reply, will just get the heck outta here. This post has been edited by Wijjog: Jul 8 2010, 09:15 PM

@Wijjog give them a little break, there's a lot of useless trolls here who don't read. for the edu discount, Apple wants to do it themselves and not give more work to the resellers. so yes, you do need to buy it yourself on the online store. I'm suprised your dad is totally against an online store that is run by the manufacturer themselves. its like saying "I dun wanna buy my Porsche from Porsche.com, I wanna buy from the dealer in KL" um... the point of the online store is that you can do the entire shopping from your home, and they will deliver to your home. There's no risk at all, when you do the transaction, since its a spike in spending, your bank will call you to authorise the charges anyway

If you had... then u should try to convince your dad, and tell him more info about Apple Store, as not all parents know quite well about it. Parents always try to protect their children, no matter how and what. Someday somehow... you will understand why today your dad did this.

Unfortunately from his post after yours, he apparently is the spoilt brat that I think he is and an ungrateful one at that. Granted, the parent may be a little out-dated in his thinking but calling him stupid and in a public forum speaks volume about him. This may be OT but I just have to state my mind otherwise others including foreigners who come into our forum think our society here condone such behaviour of our young ones.

Buying online using the education discount is easy. The easiest way is to call them - there is a number listed. Over the phone, you will be guided on how to purchase. The staff who entertain me was very helpful and even offer other options. What you need is just email as a proof that you are a student . Of course this involve a little bit of work - what do you expect if you need the discount. Anyway the whole process will be confirm same day once you email over your proof. If they have stock, you will get your MB within 2 days.

Guys, let's keep this thread on topic. Uncontructive/flame post deleted as well.
@Wijog,
It's never a good thing to call your dad "names". If he can't comprehend/understand the reason of buying the macbook pro online, explain to him the benefits. If not, just get it from the store.
Anyway, study well and see ya online on PS3 soon when you're studies is over.
Cheers

i just bought a mbp online through the education store. so far i got the order acknowledgement e-mail from them. but i haven't receive any requests regarding the uni proof thingy. so i was just wondering is this a after process after i got my mbp in hand or what. anyway, i was checking my order details and i saw one of it was listed as 'COUNTRY KIT'. just wondering what does that mean and what does it include. (sorry first timer ) and when i was customising my mbp, they don't show the keyboard specifications in terms on language (cause the US store does). so just wanna make sure is it like the normal keyboards they display in the mac store? Ya. I have the same experience too. I mean Apple didnt ask for any verification of my Uni ID or anything. I called them and ask why they didnt ask for it and the guy that answer say he's not sure with the department that should ask us. So, i guess they dont care so much as long they sell their stuff. I think I will get my laptop later after more than a week wait.

hello all.
last monday i ordered the new imac i7 through educational store by phone call. they give me the web order number as a reference to proceed with the payment through my bank. i made the payment by using my maybank account, going to the bank counter and they deduct from my account of the total sum of the price and the bank fees.
the case is
my account is maybank. the apple store provide me the details of the the payment which the payment account is to RHB bank, which my maybank will transfer to the RHB bank. The maybank staff tell me that it takes around 3 days for the transfer process. then, i ask the staff to provide the "payment reference number" then the girl said just fill the number at the "lain lain butir/others detail (jika ada)". i put the reference number there.
after the process completed, i rechecked my customers copy of the payment, where the digital reprinted payment reference number that states on the left upper part of the slip is not same as the payment reference number as i shud have to provide.
below are the regulations from apple:
"Please ensure to quote the Payment Reference Number on your payment as failure to do so may delay the processing or your order. If you are making the transfer at a bank counter, ask the teller to key in the payment reference number as the transaction reference number."
today is the fifth day, but still got no replied mail from apple stores for the payment receipt. just want to know whether my transaction is doin just fine, or i shud called the rhb bank to double confirm with the payment process, or transaction from bank to bank MEMANG LEMBAP or wtf am i goin to do?
Thanks.
