DEI STUDIO 3065If this were five years ago we'd all be wondering what a security company was doing selling speakers. But it's 2002 and DEI has been selling electronics and speakers for quite some time now -- and doing a great job of it. The Studio series is DEI's top of the top and they have pulled out all the stops to make it a technological wonder as well. It starts off with a neodymium magnet for the tweeter AND for the woofer. Manufacturers have been using neodymium for some years now on tweeters to get a much smaller magnet assembly to ease installation. DEI has added it to the woofer now. The theory is that it will be smaller, lighter and more efficient.

security company...hehe biggrin.gif

among the best, however its subjective to personal taste.
mcintosh is very analog sounding, and someone like me who prefers digital/recent music/anisong definitely wont go for mcintosh

as for the last question: it is expensive as hell smile.gif

I wouldn't agree on the word best brand. It would be personal preference.

But McIntosh is nice, sound is indeed very very nice.

When it comes to selling in shop, it is all about business.

again, its very expensive. and some of those people that plays really heavily on ICE may opt to stay anonymous and have no desires to compete smile.gif

people that usually involve mcintosh in their setup tend to go well over RM20k at least. just FYI

diminishing returns, preferences, etc.

rm20k to one guy may not sound rm20k to another guy.

Ok...lets not see the pricing or else it will steer away the interest. So how we rate this mcintosh...since its not the best but sounds very good, looks like a very difficult piece of equipment. Will Nakamichi or Clarion D3 be better than Mcintosh..sorry I cant find them in youtube, so have to ask here.

Bro, I don't believe there is such thing as the best... sound is kind of subjective ler.....

Naka is not bad, very clear too, seriously clear. But I would say less a bit of power compare to McIntosh.

No idea on Clarion. No one want to let me audit.

But you cannot purely depend on one component to get what you want, overall setup is still very important.

smile.gif

No idea where got McIntosh ah? Ask carcrazy.

Should have a set of speaker set up and hook up one by one of the HU then only can tell which one is the best...I presume! tongue.gif

Naka HU is clean clear but very thin sounding.
Clarion 9255/D2/D3 sounds quite ok with decent tuning options.
McIntosh HU BNIB starts at 5k so shops tend not to stock them.

Rainbow comps will give clean clear sound, but again very thin.

All this is compared to Mc and scans, so dun take them at face value.
Naka, Clarion higher end HU and Rainbow comps will outperform regular retail Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, RF, that kinda range of products.

Again it is easier for us if you state your max budget and whatever you've been offered so far. Easier to compare 2 products than every mentioned brand.

McIntosh HU and amps does what the rest cannot do.......... Pure natural sound. When a guitar sounds like a guitar.
