not sure if this is the place I can ask something about speakers, anyway, here goes my question:

1. what you guys think about Magnat Bull Power 2160 component speakers
2. how do I identify a Magnat imitation or a genuine one

please help me, thanks......!!
*
1. Never heard b4, so no comments.
2. i doubt Magnat got imitation.

Ooh. So an amp, component set and a sub is sufficient enough?
*
YES!!!!!!

To be more precise, a 4ch amp.
Your JVC only got 2ch out, so we recommend you use RCA splitter (2ch to 4ch) OR sell the JVC and change to something like 500 buck Pioneer WITH 4 RCA pre-out.

Do NOT install pre-amp unless it is from the following brands:
Audiocontrol
Phoenix Gold
Alpine
JL Cleansweep
Rockford Fosgate 3sixty
and a few others, but generally none of them are <rm1k new.

One more time, simple setup:

HU-->4ch amp-->front component speakers via passive Xover and subwoofer (10" or larger)

Naka HU is clean clear but very thin sounding.
Clarion 9255/D2/D3 sounds quite ok with decent tuning options.
McIntosh HU BNIB starts at 5k so shops tend not to stock them.

Rainbow comps will give clean clear sound, but again very thin.

All this is compared to Mc and scans, so dun take them at face value.
Naka, Clarion higher end HU and Rainbow comps will outperform regular retail Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, RF, that kinda range of products.

Again it is easier for us if you state your max budget and whatever you've been offered so far. Easier to compare 2 products than every mentioned brand.

McIntosh HU and amps does what the rest cannot do.......... Pure natural sound. When a guitar sounds like a guitar.

what does "thin" means...?
*
A fair comparison would be the same song played from a radio station compared to from an ori cd. Radio being thin. Thats the best i can explain in words.

Now I guess the pioneer ODR series are the way to go.
Also Mcintosh are hard to come by aswell.

Macs are easier to find than ODRs. In fact fairly readily available. Carcrazy normally has a few in his office. Just need to let the price sink in.

Carcrazy can get bnib macs on order basis. But normally he stocks mx5000 and a few amps. Also got used units if your timing is right.

I never audit ODR b4. if you decide to get get that, can tt ah?

Got Etone.

Focal got sharper highs (fengtau, house), Rainbow clear but quite relax (jazz), Eton bass is pretty good (r&b), no idea about RS.
