Guys, you all talking about S series now huh? Luckily my old S5.1 still working perfectly, if not will get poison by you guy smile.gif.

Well, currently with only RM2++ budget, I'm looking for 2.1 speaker for my pc/working room. As I often play instrument and soft song when doing my work, so I don't need heavy bass speaker (moderate is ok) and most important is vocal clarity. M3300 is a good choice or I can get cheaper speaker that suit me?

if you like GMX. im not sure even S730 can satisfy. its not boomy, although powerful. not sure though.
GMX is a good piece of work., u can ask the forumer beside, he said can find new GMX...

exactly! tat what i heard today in LYP All-IT.....hope to buy S730 today but sadly comeback empty handed cuz i feel disappointing bout with Bass....the satellite no doubt is wonderfull clearly better/sharper than the S530 but the tiny GMX subwoofer is just better and sound deeper....the salesman there say its a longthrow bass...u have to go far away to listen its full potential but still im in doubt...haiz...now really regret selling my GMX....now what...?

there are no such things as long-throw subwoofer or long throw bass. i mean, there is no word to properly describe the bass characteristic between those speakers... i only can said gmx is deep er and boomier. but not only boomy is necessary, deep is also important. the deeper the bass the more pulse you feel, although at low volumes.

must be a bad choice to sell ur gmx... anyway just tweak your soundcard for aego m, i listened to aego m couple of times, i'd say it still have good potential. just cannot be as loud as gmx.

I found this somewhere in google...KONONYA...

A "long throw" speaker is normally considered to be a high-directivity speaker. Vertically, because it projects a tight beam, you're able to "throw" the sound over the heads of the nearest listeners without killing them with SPL(sound pressure level). Horizontally, it sends less energy into the sidewalls of the room - the reverb picks up more slowly as you walk toward the back.

When it comes to floor-stacked sub woofers, neither of these effects apply. All of the listeners are in the direct path of the subs, so there is no throwing it over their heads. Also, all subs have wide patterns, and nearly all rooms have relatively long reverb times at low frequencies - so the effect of low frequency directivity on the distribution of reverb(reflect) in a room is usually insignificant.A long throw woofer design for a Sub tends to increase its bass output, while limiting distortions

i know there are definitions for the long-throw subwoofer.
just that, i rarely think people will use that term to "explain" the sound of the subwoofer itself.

just like down-firing... doesnt mean down-firing will be better. im not too sure, but i can place side-firing sub to be downfiring and vice-versa. not much difference heard...

i guess what im trying to say is.., those terms doesnt really explain much.
more likely used in marketing than designing.

True, in other words it means...listen to how it sounds, not what the specs sheet says...

what about china? few years ago got survey, i think edifier is the computer speakers that is most used and best seller in china.

that is why, no offense, but i feel edifier is good for music especially chinese songs. it's designed to be that way, cause most buyers are chinese.
while for others, let say altec lansing, they marketed for english users... doesnt mean they are not compatible each other, but for those who own edifier and other brand., u;ll realize the fact that above statement are actually quite true.

It's better for Edifier to stay low-profile and avoid to associate with THX, so i can afford it at lower price but get same performance with so-called THX certified speaker.

Nay, I would say the Edifier is cheap but good that's why I'll always go for them, other brand recommended would be the Klipsch or may be acoustic energy Aego M?

I know can join there but I aim specifically for edifier. If go there, so many will suggest other brand which I don't like. Just want some opinion from Edifier Fan.
