I see, regarding the C3 and S330 right? I've tested S330 a few places too, but still find the bass abit "messy" and cant seem to find the right setting for the bass knob to match the sats. S330's bass for me, abit too thick/big to match with it satellite speakers which sound clean and slightly thin. C3 on the other hand quite constant sound wherever i test it... bass usually around 6 and treble not exceed 4. C3's bass Quality is good but Quantity is lacking

Yeah, s530 got better vocal and instrument placing and the bass is not so "big/messy" until it overpowers the music...compare to logitech


i kena posion by c3 edy... s330 sounds abit imbalance for me lah...bass too "kao" plus its more expensive

i think near field would be slighly different from S2000 because the sweet spot is smaller.
there should be few choices like : ESI, KRK, M-audio and Alesis (these are for budget user). Currently im using nEar05, before that im using C2, sure alot of improvement from that. you can visit SMX for audition, they carry KRK, M-audio & Alesis.

btw, i bet that you wouldn't go for 2.1 setup after you already own the S2000.
S730D is good, but somehow the sonic presentation is different from 2.0 setup.

FYI, Edifier is everywhere now - they already available in 50+ country.

Haaa..i'm not purposely bought the S2000...But it looks good and sound quite balance..so grabed it few yrs ago...the last pair at that moment..so it's a display set..


No la..i like punchy sound..but oso need to balanced la..some device punch bass till hilang vocal..can't la..haaa..


and this time i won't go for too high budget...can you imagine? KRK Rockit 5" studio monitor only cost RM1k+..if i've to spend over that price then rather get those type of monitor..come to the point, wish to grab a device for my workstation @ home & near-field purpose...that's why i don't set too high of budget on it..just as 1 of my reference device and use it while i'm tired with Headphone...most of the time is Music purpose.

Yea, but Edifier is not really popular in UK, coz they're made in China, haha. Aego m is more popular there. My bro was thinking of upgrade from MX5021 to Aego m , then when I told him about Edifier, he's like nvr hear it before xD

i think edifier did good job in marketing. advertising might be lacking, but i remember, 1st time i use edifier at 2005. all my friends local and oversea didn't know. plus, when i search for edifier in "youtube" i cant get any result. today, many of my friends know edifier, as well as the youtube videos now have some "edifier" videos. so, the edifier is definitely growing. take a look at altec lansing. its still breathing, but did it grow?

Edifier always sell at this price.. same as when I first bought mine. Was quite reluctant to buy at 1499 but at 999, not a big deal compared to Aego back then which was RM750. Depends on which you prefer, Aego just doesnt sounds good enough to justify the pricetag for me, but everyone has their own preference.

Finding a balanced 2.1 is quite hard because there is no such thing as balanced. The problem with 2.1 is how the bass played out. Always have to play with the bass/treble when switching song. Having said that, 2.0 speaker also has shortcoming especially when playing noisy music. It sounds so annoying after a few songs especially electric guitars and cymbals. Usually I will play some nice voice and then when almost sienz le, then only on 2-3 pop music and then turn it off.

If you want to have extra bass with S2000, took out the speaker driver. Remove all the sponge or reduce them by half. I did that when I was replacing a broken cap in mine and the bass is loose but is much stronger. I didnt like it so I stuffed it back in. Maybe I should stuff in half of it to experiment with it but lazy.
