I buy 350g grassfed ribeye at about 28++ per piece. NOrmally will buy 3 pcs and couple lamb chops (gf and mom love lamb) and have it vacuum pack to bring back to my hometown.

@Samlee

What wagyu huh, so cheap? If I'm not mistaken, from the 1st promotion on Blackmore, the cheapest available about RM300++ for 220gram. Btw, your camera shot was superb smile.gif

Thanks for the info, & how much do they charge for the vacuum service? How long is your journey back to hometown? Do I have to bring a cooler bag?

my trip usually takes around 2 hours.. from kl to melaka.. Yes i know i drive slowly..

I'll usually bring my cooler and ask them to fill up with ice. Even if it's a short journey, you don't want your meat to get warmed up until you're ready to cook it.

Will be buying steaks and salmon again next week. Mom's birthday.. U know what, most of the time, my salmon cost more than the steak... @.@ Salmon usually runs up to around RM 30 per piece (steak cut, no bones).

@nazish/samlee wow that bad already? I had blackmore wagyu a while ago and it was definitely not "I could not cut the meat with the knife."

I've been mostly been in Mauritius/Kenya for the last half a year so I also haven't gone to prime lately though. Due back in KL for a few days at end of March hmmmmmmmm ... think I'll give prime a miss until I hear you two verdict on your second chance visit to them tongue.gif

Hey guys went to Prime today again. This time ordered Simply the Best, comes in a plate with three pieces of steak (Australian Black Angus, 200 days grain fed, filet mignon; Australian Black Angus, pasture fed, ribeye; and wagyu sirloin) and hubby ordered Australian Black Angus - 200 days grain fed centre cut filet mignon.
Both were superb. The best meat was Australian Black Angus, pasture fed filet mignon (soft and very meaty), the second best was Australian Black Angus - 200 days grain fed centre cut filet mignon. So we concluded that we are "grass-fed" fans because we like our meat to taste like meat (bloody that is) and the texture was superb. With the superior service of Prime (the best I have ever experienced before) I would now rate Prime to be the best steak in KL smile.gif I can now go to sleep with a peaceful mind! dreaming the sweet dreams of the lovely meat we had this evening.

Nice review. I guess Prime should be high on my list to try next.

What's the damage like for the Simply The Best?

Yes, they did smile.gif Actually they called me up when I made the complaint, and said that they made a mistake on setting the expectation wrong for that cut of black more.
But last night experience was totally different. All meats were nice, but the two I mentioned were exceptionally nice.

It is RM 270, but need a "real meat eater" to finish the portions. With star wood previlege it comes down to RM 135, which is quite ok.
