Questions about partitioning.
Bought new HDD intend to install OS to it.
I have made 2 partitions J: and K:
So the first partition(J:) will be automatically partitioned on the outer most side of the hard disk layer correct? So this is where is best to install OS?

In order to install my OS to this new HDD, I have to install a new copy of OS to J: and then delete my drive C: ya?
So J: will be automatically set as MBR? And i can change J: path to C: later ya?
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Tq

Not sure about this, but volume letter can be reassign later in Disk Management. while the MBR part, it will mostly automatically set, you can check it by Start > Run > Type "Msconfig"

What I would do is to disconnect all the older hard disks, then install. The new HDD will then claim C: and D:. Later reconnect all the other hard disks, make sure that the BIOS is set to boot from the new hard disk and boot up. The new OS will then see the older hard disks and assign its own drive letters to them.

Wow.. killing price yeah.. RM380 for F3EG 2TB??

I just bought mine at RM438 @ NTCT Mod (oii... Kuching here eh!), have to back-to-back order, phew~~ But arrive fast (1 week) along with CM 4-in-3 module.

Very decent (fast) drive, although have a little hard time, almost hang the whole PC when return from sleep, other than that, it's a great fast drive for 5,400rpm HDD!!! 117MB/s at start till 55MB/s at end.

First time see the model, oh dear... didn't do study, don't know the model is F2 or F3, and nvm about that, and went home to google... wow... latest drive indeed wink.gif

The smartware doesn't really suck if you can bear with it.
Some people find it useful actually.

I dont own 1 so i cant really say much, but for wat i read,it's a useless feature which consumes ur ram and the hard disk storage and it's not deleteable.

Yeap.
It isn't deletable because its a firmware feature, not a software.

Well RAM wise... doesn't matter much on these days of PCs.
Its only irratating because the damn thing has to pop out everytime I connect mybook to my PC.
