Oh My God...
ST3500320AS
Mine is Seagate 500gb.
looks like i just brought a ticking time bomb. ou god...

Btw, i wanted to ask about caviar black.. there's certain stuff that i'm not confirm yet. i'm trying to check the price for WD Caviar Black 500GB 640GB 750GB and 1TB.

and there's also some performance difference between the (500,750)Gb and (640,1000)Gb. There's some other forum comparing and saying about 640gb and 1 tb is taking advantage on larger platter.

and there's some forum saying about Caviar black is not good for Raid 0 settings. is it only 1tb bad for raid 0 or not? i'm still confused about these details. if black is not suitable for Raid 0, how about Caviar Blue? i just want best performance for my pc.

7200.12 memory cache is base on how big is the HDD
250gb = 8mb cache
500gb = 16mb cache
750gb = 32mb cache
1000gb = 32mb cache

that's what i saw on some certain website info.
but i was hoping to see higher memory cache like... 1000gb for 64mb cache WTF LOL. just joking xD

i want to ask about raid 0 and single hdd without any raid0

I heard that there's a software raid and a hardware raid.

some one told me that hardware raid0, is the same as a single hdd for the risk of losing data, is that true?

if i get 2 samsung spinpoint F3 500gb raid0, will it be better than i get a samsung spinpoint F3 1TB single hdd ?

and some one explain the risk? and difference about software raid0 and hardware raid0 ?

Actually for ordinary users or non-sophiscated users, they won't notice much or at all, whether using Blue or Green version.

It is ok for ordinary usage even as the main OS disk.

The one noticeable surge in performance is SSD.
*
actually, there's a slightly difference, but the major factor, is you mind or you don't mind about the little difference.

But i think green version is very good for storage flex.gif

it has effect on games?if yes,then how much?can we feel the diff if using higher speed?
*
sadly, i think the answer is a no.(if for using high speed cable)

if using higher speed hdd, then, the only thing that improve will be game loading time.

if you're talking about game performance, no

if you're talking about game loading time, yes(only if you raid 0 or SSD)

all this above is only based on my personal knowledge. which is not 100% correct.

speedwise i think samsung spinpoint still wins over caviar black, Caviar black new version only has 64mb cache, and new choices of 3.0 gbps sata or 6.0 gbps.

Look at below for reference, if your hdd is other model number from the list below, it's not F3.

QUOTE(lingloong @ Jun 14 2010, 01:18 AM)

For your case, I do apologize for the mistake caused. It's my fault for not double check the PN before send out.

3 reasons:

1. When order Samsung HDD from supplier, I ONLY stock in F3 models, meaning HD103SJ, HD754JJ & HD502HJ. OTHER than this, I have let them know I RATHER don't want to sell.
2. For earlier stock, I do check every single unit (20-30 units every batch) for the PN to double confirm before accepting. So after that, mostly will check few units on top of the box, guess i missed few units that is HD103UJ for 1TB
3. Friday (11 June), u msn me want 1TB F3, ok kinda rush got few outstation parcels need to process, due to edi mindset all the 1TB is F3 + blurness  laugh.gif , simple take and teeeeet bar-code machine for receipt, process your order before courier pickup for delivery same day

Well understand you want to piss off but all I can do is offer you refund + the courier fee for you to post back the unit. or maybe you want some kopi-o to cool you down?  cheers.gif or u feel I should pay your petrol fee as well can always discuss  wink.gif

And for the bold part in quoted text, if u feel like want to indicate something, can always PM me to discuss. I don't prefer it to be publicized because I'm VERY serious bout my reputation as online seller.

Mistakes sometimes happen but I don't want other people/buyer to think my "mistake" is purposely done for "attempt to cheat"  smile.gif  I understand your post is subjective but the seller is me now, so indirectly u are point at me  sad.gif

Sorry for my bad english

*
lol, i'm sorry, but the post that i was replying is towards to Zhen Wei, since he said
QUOTE
em. actually supplier can't give dealer F1 or F3 Samsung HDD, if deler request for F3, they only put remark there, then give to logistic ppl to prepare the hdds, if lucky then got F3 la. haha. if everyone want F3, then their F1 canot sold.

btw, now normally Samsung 1TB is F3, and 500GB F1, very rare to get 500GB F3 and 1.5TB F3 now.

I apologize if this is any misunderstanding, because you already stated that you got the wrong stock, and i wasn't pointing my fingers towards you and blaming you for trying to do anything bad. i just giving my opinions to some normal users to becareful.

The very reason i deal with you in the first place, because i trusted you and trade with you before, the transaction is fast and responsive, and i respect you. And there's no delay or anything.

But please believe in me, that my post above is replying to zhen wei about his opinions of "Their F1 cannot sold"

I personally apologize if any of my post above is ruining/tarnish your reputation as a seller, and i will edit any part of my post that you see as Inadequate/inappropriate or by any means tarnishing your reputation.

again, i'm sorry.

Hmm, currently i'm trying Norton Ghost. well, it nearly screw me thou.

first i was able to clone the hdd, when rebooting, if conflicted with my current hdd and screw all my volume letter.

well... nevermind about it, i actually learned how to revert back. learn new stuff everyday...

But seems now i having some problem with MBR, does anyone here actually know after cloning a hdd, how to actually set your default boot to the new hdd without booting the old hdd, seems if 2 harddrive has MBR as well, it will conflict.
