that should F2 HD154UI.. 3 platter n yes 5400rpm..
F1 7200rpm with 4 platter..
i seek for performance.. coz nowadays files also become bigger.. unless u like to wait more..

it's ur call.. for me usb 3 is just around the corner..
or maybe some other times can place inside pc..
same like mine last time for the 2.5" ide hdd which is priced lower..
i chose ide for external storage..
yes it will bottlenecking by the interface..

i don't have seagate so cannot compare.. but i think F1/F2 also just about the same.. F3 should be better.. this is what i compare between WD Black n Samsung F3.. F3 is 2 platter it's low power n also lower heat.. WD black = 40C F3 = 35C  u can compare with seagate later.. |

named in ecogreen 5400rpm..
quite surprise though with its transfer rate..

that's why ppl complaining WD green a bit slow..
though said 7200rpm where actually 5400rpm..
and reduce the wattage to make it green and sacrifice the performance.. fiu..

but some reviewer prefer spinpoint.. though not so popular here..
me also always with WD..
after sometimes using the F3.. start to love it..
-fast
-quite
-low heat..
-low power consumption i suppose
what's more? reliable need to wait several years.. haha..

u worry to much i think.. as 1tb f3 just use 2 platter..
if u say green.. that 1.5tb f3 also use 3plater only..
it using less power n reduce heat also..
f1 n wd black use more platter which generate more heat..
wd green is slow n why pay more..

maybe wd green dropping the performance (wattage) on idle.. so to resume, we might experience the lagging..
i heard 1.5gb F3 samsung has a good performance..
3 platter, less wattage, less noise and also runs cool.. while still cheap..
