Self time is surely a need because we deserve our own time as well as she deserves her time. But some people always gone too far from self timer until there's very little time for their family as well.

But then I really agree that LAN and Online games are in totally different categories whereby we need to spend almost our entire day into it, WoW is another pretty "bad ass game" that requires people to fully devote their time.

DotA ISN'T the best game, not by a long shot, especially since it isn't technically a 'game' to begin with, just a WC3 map created by fans. And of COURSE it doesn't improve English... I know people who play DotA and probably can't even read the hero names -- they just look at the pictures to select, methinks. '

However. I ALSO know brilliant, cream-of-the-crop university and high school students who do play DotA too, and who play it well. Generalizations show nothing but ignorance, my friend. Some of those people will be the surgeons, specialists, lawyers, etc whom you will consult in the future. I also know a few (less, but still existant) successful careermen who DotA as well. No brain? Think again.

i just cannt undestand why guys are so addicted to dota, 3 years bak my bf is alrd an experinced dota player, although i dun like him play dota, because he will ignore me, even when im hungry like hell~what he sadi is: wait...so wait from 6pm t0 10 pm, he is still dota-ing. So can u imagine how is the feel at that time?

AND i tried to play, so that it wont be a big gap btw us, but....sad hing to say, i was KILLED uncountable times,since then i never opne DOTA game in my pc.

Why all the b****ing about a game? It's just a game. Everyone needs to relax and unwind. Some people exercise, some people watch tv, and some people play DoTa. Just leave the DoTa players alone and concentrate on yourself. By the way, I do play DoTa but only rarely.

Addiction kills, always spend more time with your other half than games.

I dunno about you but I've tanked (smaller) dungeons as a Warrior in WoW, given orders on voice chat, and still managed to have a coherent conversation with my ex. It all depends on how well you can route the audio into a your ears, and micromanage your mute buttons. Oh the ability to perform extreme multitasking might come in handy too.

But I have always given fair warning to all parties involved that I may not be performing up to standard since the majority of my concentration is obviously going to my girlfriend.

I really don't care if I die in a game or lose all my money in said game. Really. At worst, all it is is just an extra month or regrinding all that stuff. Losing a relationship on the other hand isn't worth it.

Besides, if the conversation needed me to do something like schedule every waking hour for the next three days, there's always unplugging my DSL and saying I lagged out when everybody in WoW wonders what happened to me.

Team fortress 2 on the other hand, well I used to join the spectators team when my ex called.


All that for moot though, her parents didn't like me.

As for your ideas, not perfect, but it's good to see you're at least willing to compromise for a girl.

My GF is actually quite into games, so, she will ask me things she don't know about in the games, including DotA. And she enjoys it when the game shouts "HOLY SHIT!!!" lol
