Hi All,

Has anyone changed their City absorbers? My back absorbers seemed to be giving problems.

Went over a hump quite fast and there was this clang-clang sound (like no more support) from the back. cry.gif

Some more there was no reflector painted at the hump. So didn't see it when driving at night.

Wonder how much it would cost to change the absorbers....

I have replaced my rear absorbers too on last August where my rear right absorbers had oil leakage. You may try to check your absorbers and see if there is an oil leakage. On the sound, last time i have a kind of sound on when the road was bumpy, end out my mechanic found out that one of the screw nuts on the axle was not tight enough.

Yeah, was thinking of sending to SC for service soon. Thinking of asking them to check it out if really need changing or maybe some screws are loose.

But won't be changing the absorbers at SC since it's going to be expensive. brows.gif

How much did it cost you to change to the new ones? Did you change it at SC?

The price seemed ok, is this the standard Honda absorbers?

Was advised by a friend that it's better to change the front absorbers as well if changing the rear one. Is it true? Sorry noob at this sweat.gif

By the way, heard that the front will cost 3x the price of the rear???

@rmage,i changed back to the stock absorbers only. What is the better absorber you may introduce to our City? Front absorbers will be more expensive as usual,i am unsure with the actual price.

Hi Raymond,

Me not expert on absorbers le. Was thinking of changing to the same old honda absorbers only. sweat.gif

Anyway, sent to SC last Saturday and they mentioned that the absorbers still can use so no need to change first. They tighten some screws and seemed to be ok already.

But then my front passenger area seemed to have water leaking in. They mentioned that the plastic panel where the rubber is, the glue is no longer that strong since it's been 5 years. I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar? icon_question.gif

a little side track...

i read some comments by Paul Tan's readers about power windows. i had the same experience with my kancil and wira. both different make, proton and perodua, have same problem - me leaving them under the hot sun, and letting dirt and grime build up the window frame. resulting the window feels heavy to wind up or down - slow response. remedy = clean the build ups, and lube the frame with silicone lubricant.

imho when the car left in hot sunlight, the frame hardens - possibly will let water in - not to mention the dirt and grime. the power window motor will have to work extra hard, and eventually will give in. hence the power window failure.

as a metaphor: no foreplay = no lube = no go!

just my 2 cents.

Any reason to buy another honda city? Most people would wait for a class upgrade.
