QUOTE(kaizenng90 @ Feb 4 2010, 09:45 AM) Is the new i-VTEC engine better than the i-DSI engine in my current Honda City? And what makes it better? I need more comparation. New i-VTEC of course is more powerful than iDSI model. iDSI is meant for fuel saving while VTEC and i-VTEC is meant for performance.

hmmm... is the new i-VTEC more fuel saving than the current i-DSI?? This is what I heard from others. And is the new City more spacious than the previous City? I dont have time to go to test drive. So, I would like to gather more information about it. Thanks.

Who told you on this?New City cabin is slightly larger than the old one.

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Feb 4 2010, 11:44 AM) i-VTEC fuel comsumption and power is greater than VTEC? Power, old City more powerful cause the 7 speed.. FC, supposedly the NHC is better but see so many complaints in forum and from my friends, I don't think so hehe... The new engine sucks, 5th gear is like overdrive for highway only... Should have stuck with CVT like Japan..

No no.. He means is I-VTEC is better in FC compared with VTEC. But then in power, VTEC beats I-VTEC
Added on February 4, 2010, 12:59 pmoh, that means the previous generation is better than now??

NHC is not CVT ? there are words around that many people are cursing honda CVT not reliable la.. senang rosak la... how true are these accusations? mine reached 130,000km already. so far no gear problem. i constantly shift from D to S and back to D again. D for long drive, S for short - like in traffic jam. but i keep the rpm below 3. will that kill my iDSI gearbox even faster? assuming that the honda CVT killing is actually real.

there is never a comparable one.....
theoretically.... gear ratio in NHC gearbox (5AT or CVT 2.0) is lower at optimal speed compared to HC 2gen if u driving without traffic at 90kph on highway for both NHC and HC 2gen constant, NHC could win in FC when we talk CVT, its about efficient transmission....less power loss during shifting.... hence in city drive, HC 2gen is better than NHC, due to lighter weight, and CVT
but all in all, still down to how 1 driver drives the car....so no point comparing oso....
HC 2gen is no where more power than NHC, they are same...L15 tuning allows NHC to gain +10bhp also at the peak rpm onli....

NHC i would say is another brand new engine from Honda after they have fine tune + i-VTEC in. Old City VTEC is also not that bad in the sense of power but i believe that i-VTEC engine has slightly a better power to VTEC + CVT.

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Feb 4 2010, 10:35 PM) That is the bare engine performance,on wheel performance is another matter there. Dyno can test out the power from wheel.

Hey guys...
Need some help here ):
Recently while driving with the radio off, I noticed this sloshing sound whenever I brake. Its like water being sloshed around, like if you take a bottle then turn it over rapidly, then the water takes awhile to settle and while settling it makes that sloshing noise.
I can feel it usually at the handbrake, like the sloshing and was just wondering if its the fuel tank or something??
Please help ):

Guys, how do you solve the windscreen problem which makes the high pitch sound when crusing at high speed?
I went to SC and they told me that the rubber on top of the front windscreen is not sealed tight. They can fix it for me but have to take out the windscreen again to re-seal which might possible damaging my tint.
I'm not sure if I'm letting them to do it but the sound is indeed very annoying each time you're at high speed.
I'm driving Vtec 2007.

anywhere to fix scratched windscreen? Mine is scratched... so far shops I've been only want to replace the entire windscreen, not repair. It's not major scratch but small scratches which u can't put your nail to feel. Unfortunaltely the radius is big so that's why i need repairing. bought some windscreen polish (t-cut) it works but i can still see the scratches when it glares (sun shining or bright lght passing by).
