Here's a sample of tracklogs recording using racechrono & exporting/converting the gpx file using mapedit & thereafter editing via mapsource b4 submitting to mappers:  thumbup.gif ..Atlast I can dump my ASUS P535 already  rclxm9.gif ...Currently on sales:

U are recording those roads where not included in the map?

I tried recording with garmin b4. Something like that, dotted line and contains info like speed, distance etc~

Yup. You can buy GPS adapter for PSP .. the price around 200-300 like that I think. Can search garage sale, I saw few people selling the adapter that day.

Here's the link: GPS for PSP

There isnt any Malaysia map for PSP unless using homebrew google map with cache, but that will be troublesome.

Yes.. I only hunt for roads not in the latest maps biggrin.gif rclxms.gif ...BTW, garmin MXT does hv tracking capabiolity but the tracklogs are not "golden quality" i.e it's not 1 second recording but "most often" thus mappers's dun really likes garmin mxt tracklogs...racechrono provides 1 sec recording & thus the dotted line is very close to each others & gave a very accurate tracks rclxms.gif

BTW, the info in racechrono is more than what available via Garmin... biggrin.gif

Oh, another thing is, u do all experience this?

When I am outside, when I turn on my garmin, I look at the signal. I can see many bars of signal and the signal is quite high, but then it do not have color in it, just blank bar. If the bar got color means signal locked already. I was wondering, why my phone GPS can detect so many signal and strong signal but cannot lock with them.

It seem there are, just that it is outdated. The PSP GPS uses Mapthis!, and converting Malsingmap seems to be possible, but tiresome

Not sure what u mean by getting full bars but no colour/signal....but for sure when starting, the bar will turn from red (1-2 bars) to green (3-5bars). If totally no signal it will be blank. hmm.gif

If no signal u can't navigate what..if u can navigate for sure there's signal... biggrin.gif

My N78 locks very fast from startup even from inside house/room or a moving car - 3 to 5 bars....I don't think a dedicated GPSr can do any better than this.

How many secs tracklog in Garmin Mobile XT? it never stats in sec.

Sometimes it show a lot but not connected. If connected, the bar will be blue color inside. But sometimes it takes very long to lock although can detect many satelite

Oh, u mean that globe chart...Normal-lah..Even in Garmin QUe or even those mother of GPS (Like Garmin 60Csx) also like that...I will take time to acquire satelites and after the signal getting stronger, the colour change to stable.

Hypermount, hehe, H/phone esp N78 acquisition of satelites are slow, not sure why your unit so fast but normally between 3-5 or even 10min!! However tested sharkteef N79 and it's really fast..BTW, inside house mana ada satelite signal unless u using the signal based on AGPS nearest to GSM tower??

Oh, okok so its normal lol I thought something is wrong

Actually it depends u know, i got a friend his N82 can acquire faster satelite signal than my phone, i dont know why. Both of us on garmin at the same time and his phone lock satelite around 30 second, while mine takes up to minutes. Tested a few times already.

Using HOLUX M-1000 I can get signal at home in 5 seconds around 10 feet close to the windows. More than 10 feet than a little tough. Using my phone is really really difficult.

Anyway, dedicated GPS or Bluetooth GPS receiver is better than GPS built-in in phone, unless they are using better chip or those chip used in GPSr and put it in phone, then only can compete with dedicated GPS.

That's weird..my phone take only 5-10 seconds! tongue.gif Later at home take video. 4-5 green healthy bar.

At details - at least about 4 blue bar - satellites link.

if 3-10 minutes -wow if it's like that really I wouldn't get really excited about the GPS feature in my phone.

Yeap..u are one of luckiest one around biggrin.gif ..BTW, how fast the acquisition of signal doesn't mean the chipset is good. I still remember having a GloballocateAGPS chipset in my old HP6515 & the acquisition of satelite is much faster than my current Asus P535 PDA (SirfIII chipset). and I can tell u the quality of tracklogs using sirfIII is much better than globallocate AGPS chipset!!

On my current N78 I was actually dissapointed wth the tracklogs quality via Garmin MXT as it's dun hv 1 second recording & thus, tracklogs not so perfect wth big gaps in between..in order to get perfect tracklogs, u really hv to walk & jog rather than drive!! However since I found another tacking software (Racechrono) ...getting the perfect 1 second tracklogs, & this very slow chipset actually performed equally good compare wth SIrfIII rclxms.gif shocking.gif

I think you need 4 bars higher than average to get a lock. After that, minimum 3 satellites will work already, but no elevation. Elevation needs minimum 4 satellites.

With GMXT, sometimes I can get GPS lock in 5-10 seconds. Sometimes it won't lock at all even after 10 minutes.

I notice it is easier to lock using Nokia Maps. So sometimes I launch Nokia Maps first, lock satellites, then launch GMXT, then close Nokia Maps.

Hi, i have few questions here..

1.How do i suppose to get into here--> user posted image to view this page huh??

2.Im using Garmin XT 5.0 and i think its "europe garmin" cuz i saw it before loading the map at center of the screen, then now it running at m/h instead of km/h.. I not really used to m/h, is that possible for me to change to km/h format?

3.When i save a location, it will default-ly save the location name as "My Location 01" or "My Location 02" or "My Location 03".. Is that possible to rename it a?

1. Select the signal bar on top left corner, then u will see GPS information, then press middle button again.

2. Yea because havent use ur garmin b4, therefore it will show the default location, after getting the location for the first time, it will change. you can change to km/h in tools > settings > system > distance/speed, elevation, depth > metric

3. tools > Manage my data > My locations > find the point u saved > press middle button > change name

Bro, play around with garmin and get familiar with it~
