TS u must also state how lousy malaysia GPS can get at times. It does calculate the fastest route to destination but thats also end up in tol and there is no way to go around it.
2nd Even u know there is a shortcut/faster way the GPS take u a huge circle even u choose the fastest route.
3rd Nokia Build in GPS are crappy always signal unavailable due to its weak tracking ability
4rd When u really need the GPS to guide u thats when u get signal unavaliable crap.
5th Smartphone GPS it drains battery like drinking water .

Like the others said whats your needs? If u use gps everywhere u go then get a nuvi if u only use when you are lost then a phone gps is sufficient. Nuvi is actually kinda waste of money because it only serve 1 purpose that is gps n some minor additional features.
pls note nuvi lock to satelite in few sec mobile phone gps sometimes can take up to 5mins

because the internal chip is weak .
For a external GPS it takes 3-5 sec to lock For internal suka suka 30 sec suka suak 10 mins still red bar there

i dunno why yours take 30 sec. When its paired when u turn on the bluetooth it will automatic pair in less than 5 sec. It works same like your bluetooth handsfree. When a call comes in i only turn on my bluetooth. If need 30 sec i would have miss all my calls.

yea like u said 1st time so what is the problem? Its only 1 time thing.
Yea either 1 is active at one time. If there is a call coming thru and i am using the garmin i will use loudspeaker.
But if u compare external GPS can lock fast and in any big structure places it still gets full bar.

(SirfIII...similar to other standalone Garmin GPSr duch as selected NUVI & the mother tracker...60Csx!!)..Thus during that day I tested and that thing really fast....even at the five foot way of the kopitiam I can say that the speed of acquisition rivaled/comparable to those external BT GPSr i dunno i tried n95 , n95 8GB & n82 all disappointed me flat.
