how do you make the screen not to go into screensaver or power save mode on your Nseries phones? Mine can set to max at 90 seconds only making it impossible to have the garmin screen on for the entire journey

Omnia is a window mobile so more to PDA phone rather than Smartphone (Nokia Symbian) The advantage of GPS in PDA phone (For me-lah) is, its capable to install GPS proxy that symbian can't & I just love the tracking capability of GPS proxy which is much more accurate than anything Garmin can provide. If u pair GPS proxy wth the older 2d version of Garmin que, u can run Garmin virtually free except this is an older version of Garmin. Garmin Mobile XT is not a free software & u need to buy the original SD card from Garmin (Not cheap also ) To learn more read the wiki section of malsingmaps from the link in my siggy QUOTE(shakiraa @ Nov 24 2008, 12:20 AM) Hi all sifus, i'm looking for a GPS device also, i'm thinking about getting OMNIA, i'm super noob, how should i start from there? straight away install Garmin then good to go? and the Garmin software need to buy or can d/l for free?
Very sorry for the dumb question as i'm really new to this GPS thing, thus really appreciate ur help. thanks again. This post has been edited by stimix: Nov 27 2008, 12:23 AM

I'm new in this thing. The Garmin Mobile XT in my mobile is accurate At least for now and for simple routes..lol loving it. It's pretty fast and accurate from a moving car (speedometer also is near accurate from the calculation)..cos seems we can't disable the A-GPS function...signal s strong - 4 healty bar all the time...for those who want to test the GPS locking capability - keep it away from laptop and any electronical devices..

Can we rely on Malfreemap alone? or should I try Malsingmap - read it needs key to unlock.

Yes you can override the backlight off function..go to tools ->settings->display , set backlight override to always on....to make all totally handsfree.

Very subjective question because both of them have their own contributor, however malfreemap keep updating everyweek.

If u are using free map, there are several bugs including location search where u cant search from the search lol btw, no need to spell state, skip that part go to the next one until it askes u to enter Street

I am currently using Nokia Map 2.0 with voice navigation.
I've been navigating fine with 2.0 but ever since I updated nokia maps recently, i can't navigate offline. I am stuck at the calculating route stage.
However, I could navigate if i am online using A-GPS. A-GPS sucks since our gprs is way too slow to hold on to a constant route.
I also realize voice navigation is not working correctly.
Anyone with the same problem?
Anyway of me reverting back to the old map?

What you can do now is remove all the map and reinstall the map. When u update that time did u remove it in the first place?
