Fsb max at 295 on my MSI945GC , Bsel'ed , cannot go more than that , my fren's can go untill 3.0 on his ECS 945GC, but that is e2180 bsel'ed. i think my e2160 is a bad one ,coz even i put it on P35, it also cant go more than 2.7Ghz sweat.gif

I find myself in possession of a E5200 and G31M-ES2L. Now, how do I...

*drumrolls*

...underclock this thing? wink.gif Then again, if stock and underclocked E5200 eat the same amount of power, I'll stick with stock speed.

As mADmAN says, EIST is more than good enough.. wink.gif If you want to reduce the power consumption furthermore, then you can try "undervolting"... brows.gif

Well, according to Abit webby, your mobo doesn't support E5200 CPU, how unfortunate doh.gif

Check this out :-

Upgrade ur mobo & u r good to go nod.gif

It's typical of intel to outsource some of their productions(HSF) to several other companies for cost/time saving in order for mass production...

Many other electronics giants also do the same...

Bout d performance? No idea, guess u have to borrow ur friend's HSF & put it into a spin then see how those two fares...

today i simply oc a E5200 (M0)

manage to get:

300 x 12.5 = 3.75Ghz
1.30vcore
Abit IP35-E Bios18
Cellshock ddr2 1000 @ 1000 5-5-5-15 2T 3:5
Vdimm 2.2v (within factory recommend 2.1v~2.3v)
MCH 1.53v
ICH 1.50v

before that i tried to find the fsb wall with multiplier 6x, but with everything stock voltage, reach from 350 till 410 still no problem on booting and SuperPi stable. still not yet go further.....too lazy......

so far not yet touch the SPD...lazy also....haha

but i might wan to lower the Vcore to see how much vcore need to pump for multiplier 12.5 and reach 4Ghz

how is my proc? can say moderate?
