My iPhone 2G is a jailbreak / unlocked set and upgraded to 2.1.1

I intend to download and install the latest iTunes today.

Can I SAFELY sync with the latest iTunes 8.1 ???

i also just jailbreaked today.
and installing all d 5stars app from cydia

Hi all sifu over here,
I got one U,K set iphone which is firmware 2.2.1. The problem is I jailbreak using QuickPwn.
After I jailbreak the iphone no carrier been detected! my maxis no functioning.
I trying to upgrade to firmware 2.2 but the itune no allow & error came out error (1013)


Here are the detail :
Model : MB489B
Modem Firmware : 02.30.03
Restore firmware : iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11
QuickPwn : QuickPwn225-2


How to solve this problem? Need to send to phone shop to fix?

Do read the first post of this thread on 3G Unlock. You need to purchase a sim unlocker to enable calls etc.

same with exactly what i face... except you are using celcom i am using maxis...

i think i had overcome the problem, my problem is simply because the damage file on BL-39, try to download again to ensure that the file is not corrupted..

Hi, my iphone 3g is a factory unlcoked unit at 2.2.1 . I would like to jailbreak using QuickPwn WINDOWs version.

I dont intend to do a restore first as i DO NOT want to wipe all my contents.


My questions is if i use quickpwn on my 2.2.1 firmware with some contacts and songs inside, will they be lost?

Yes, just quickpwn alone....no restoring etc...

Please let me know urgently.....im doing it for my uncle and he is going back today must do it soon.

bro, how come during the last process jailbreaking which "uploading exploit bootloader" seemd like stuck there... izzit like tat... i wait almost hlf hr also the same..

Currently i'm using the Iphone 2G ( version 1.1.4
but recently i 've bought a new laptop ( Install wif Win XP Pro )
N i need to get a new itunes to convert all my songs into my Iphone....
So i installed the latest version ( itunes 8.1.0 ) into my laptop.
Then once i plug in my Iphone,it bounce out a memo ask me to download & install the new version ( 2.2.1 )
In that time i jus blindly click & let it download...
So now i'm get into trouble....everything change in my Iphone...
Currently my Iphone had installed the latest version of 2.2.1....but my Iphone is not supported to the version...
But i try to jailbreak it....but still doesn't work....currently my iphone its not functioning at all...
Bcoz once i switch on my Iphone,its shows that currently sim card is not supported for this Iphone & pls send to the carrier's store to get a replacement sim card....

Bad luck my friend... you just got yourself a very expensive Ipod Touch.

EDIT - Maybe you can get one of those hardware unlock i.e. Rebel SIM. Do some window shopping first.

he is on iPhone 2G, which can be unlocked even on 2.2.1.

i've download those teach in the tutorial...
but nw the main concern is when i plug in my Iphone into my laptop,n my itunes keep saying that the sim card is not supported by the Iphone...
N my Iphone screen now is showing" the plug & the itunes logo"...n i only can make emergency call...that all i can do with my Iphone now...

Use Quickpwn to JB your phone and make sure you have MS.net installed. If all else fails, look for Hanxz to assist you.

your phone is still locked. try going through the whole jailbreaking process using Quickpwn again. remember to check the 'Unlock phone' option.

Bro... Jailbreak it first then connect to itunes... make sure u download the bootloader as well... then everything is going to be ok....

i am using an iphone 3g officially unlocked from optus aussie but i am currently using it in malaysia under maxis.

just say my gf who bought it for me report loss back in aussie and get a new one can they somehow lock my iphone back here in malaysia if i update to a new firmware in the future thru itunes? just say they somehow manage to lock my phone can i unlock it again? i am using firmware 2.2.1.

am i right in thinking that my iphone will be fine if i dont update my firmware when apple does come out with a new firmware? i can still sync my movie, music etc right?

any advise is appreciated
