If only you can provide more info and how did this happen, no one here can read your problem. All i can say is, to ask you to upgrade to Fw 2.2 or either that you have a loose sim.

I took out my SIM and tried in another phone.. the problem is not there... only in IPHONE... it just happened all of a sudden.

It's hard to really pin point the problem. If it is hardware, then look for crxr. You can have it look at by Hanxz.

Yes..they are. Hanxz is on software base while crxr is on the hardware.

guys, I recently got an officially unlocked iphone3G. I would like to ask something. at the moment Im using the 2.2 firmware, i was thinking about updating to the 2.2.1 firmware. I know that with the 3Gs that use yellowsnow, we should use the modified ipsw. I was wondering, since this is an officially unlocked one, can i update from itunes? will it affect my jailbreaking?
I know how to do all the steps, Im just confused about which rules still apply if its officialy unlocked

if u r sure it is, then go ahead n upgrade to 2.2.1, n then u can simply jailbreak after tat using quickpwn
upgrading firmware surely wud effect ur jailbreak as it wipes out all da data n installs new one...
of coz the one on ur itunes wwud be restored back

if u r not sure if urs is OTB unlocked or yellowsnow, do not do it...

just check if u hv yellowsnow installed in ur i3g....u'll noe

yea, I had formatted using the modified 2.2 firmware i was using for my first 3G. I caught signal imediately, no yellowsn0w, no jailbreak. Thanks you for the advice

Step-by-step instructions to perform an authorised unlocking (using Optus as an example):

1) Sign up for a contract with Optus where a credit check will be conducted (applicable only to legitimate Australian residents)
2) Opt for the 12 months contract plan
3) Make at least one call using that very same iPhone with the provided Optus SIM card (enabling Optus to register your IMEI number on their database)
4) Call Optus to request for an unlock
5) A text will subsequently arrive, indicating that it has been successfully unlocked (this may take up to 10 days)
6) Restore using iTunes and test it with a SIM card from another network provider
7) If it fails, ring up Optus again. However if it does, proceed to next step.
8) Call Optus to cancel your contract and they will then bill everything in a single bill
9) Pay the bill and you're done

pls help....i try to upgrade my 2g iphone from 1.4. to 2.2.1 using quickpwn everything ok but problem is no network (no celcom network). i try it twice and still facing d same prob. i dont wat when wrong coz i following the toturial from iclarified. pls help thanx
