Dear All

I have some problem on Sound issue. When I install IDT high deffinition driver from HP website the sound driver will disappear n need to reinstall. I uninstall it and it become High Definition audio driver, and got sound now, however, the sound will mute on on and click button will turn sound touch button at top of keypad to mute and on. When i play movie or movie, the sound will on. only it will mute n on by itself.... not nice and very troublesome. on n off listen "tick" "tick". Anyway to solve it.

Tried the online chat, just get the [An agent will be with you shortly.] but that's as far as it gets. For landline support I'll have to wait until Monday.

The normal flash program runs on Vista. If you can't boot, you can't run Vista, so you cant re-flash. Kinda dumb no!

I believe there may be a way to flash using a USB stick, like they do with the Acers, but I have no details as to what file name is expected on the stick. I've tried guessing a few but no luck. sad.gif

Okay, got it sorted rclxm9.gif

I just found out from some dealer.......
Cause the XP cannot support the PUMA platform....due to the hybrid system......
Which all the new compaq CQ for AMD series is running.........

I did confirm that CQ40-125AX is using 780 series chipset.
But, the Driver from HP still cannot fully support the Hybrid function......so have to wait for them...... cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Even if you got the driver from the net.......it sure to have problem after awhile.......
like blue screen, system hang, auto restart...........

YES........just bought the Compaq CQ40-125AX on Friday.....from C-zone....

Got it very cheap price......cause I know the owner personally.....only mark up RM11 from the Actual Cost.

This a great Notebook........ rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Installed VISTA ULTIMATE 64bit............prepare to upgrade to 4GB RAM..........now cry.gif cry.gif only 2GB RAM.

Anyhow, it's a very solid & stylish notebook compare to Dell.......(which my friend works there.....they call HELL)
I used to own 2 of it before......Inspiron 1410 and Vostro 1400.

I am guessing around RM1800.
Is your Vista Ultimate running smooth or sometimes lag?Initially I planned to install Vista Ultimate in my notebook but decided to install home premium because I thought ultimate use more resource hogging than home premium.

I was using my Vista Ultimate with unlimited updates running on 2gb RAM, If you dont run RAM intensive programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc. It should work fine and fast. I dont see any lagging at all. However I am now with 4gb RAM because I need to rip some videos.

Difference between Home Premium and Ultimate it has slightly more features like Dreamscene, etc. I dont think it would consume a significant system resources (maybe only extra 5%?). Microsoft segregates to different vista versions so they could fetch extra price premium.

I believe the problem is caused by ur unstable Vista version? Try to get a new copy and do a clean install. If you dont know where to get, PM me.
