wow..ATI HD vga occupied quite a lot power ya.. but advantage is better than the Nvidia 9100m

Fn key control by those Acpi program, eg my asus = c:\program files\asus\EeePC ACPI\AsAcpiSvr.exe, not sure about compaq where the program is.

lol Vista isn't that bad right? IMO vista performance is faster than xp, although the startup background services twice the XP, battery management wise also better than XP

alternative of CQ 40 (provided by HP Engineer)

1 - Please do not use tools to download drivers to download, right-click on the recommendations --- Save As to download, if you must use the software to download, you must use single-threaded download.

2 - Please list in accordance with the order to install drivers, especially the first three, must be installed in accordance with the order.

3 - If you can not install the normal, the temporary closure of some of the software is running or procedures, such as firewall or antivirus software. Can be installed into Safe Mode to enter - boot after row keyboard click F8.

4 - Equipment Management common device known as the General shortcuts, modems, reader-driven, and so on, if there is an unknown device, first of all try to install the driver.

5 - Make sure that your version of SP2 version of the system, otherwise there may be some driver conflict, if there is no driver or software installation, you upgrade to a version of SP2. Please check version of the system, right-click My Computer - properties

6 - Download, a general drive you only need to click on the normal operation can be installed, if the driver has not loaded, you Device Manager to manually specify what.

from the benyouhui mentioned all works...unsure about LYN users

try those driver at page 7 I posted, its provided by HP engineer

both of their temperature won't different much

which sata u use? if still can't...only way is nlite or msdn winxp sp3

AMD sata achi, ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp40001-40500/sp40046.exe (for Intel find the filename SP36131)

once i tried the F6 method on acer 4530 for the sata correct driver, it did read as correct sata driver but later on xp installation fail to read it end up solution...install as normal IDE & update sata inf under xp.

can CQ series change to IDE inside bios??

new battery need few full charges to gain the good performance, btw its normal for amd cpu 2 hours +

duo core, easily beat the 2.5 hours

yes AMD new cpu did improve on the power consumption part but still unable to catch up intel

if its Broadcom wifi + bluetooth, u can get it from HP Mini note 2xxx series

about the "Conexant", its internal modem

the rest...should be card reader + ENE CIR Receiver (can obtain from microsoft)
