well, he is not wrong...u're the 1 wrong doh.gif...most card struggling at reso above 1680x1050 for crysis.
*
what he is wrong is he put the bottleneck of 22" monitor, it is deal to graphic card, not monitor.

Everything in a mess. But what I thought is for Crysis, the graphic card is always the bottleneck even before the CPU. There was a review of i7 versus C2Q, performance for Crysis was quite similiar because the GC bottlenecked.

if you using 22" monitor , adjust 1900x1200 at benchtool and run it will show the 'native resolution' result laugh.gif

not much point.
4850 1gb is 4 those who wanna ply games on high resolution wit <= medium setting.
*
Well, many people is talking about Crysis here but i have not tried that before tongue.gif Not my type of games.

I am still looking at certain review, and seeing whether its worthy or not. Of course, i wanted it to be at least able to play games at 22" native resolution without any lagginess. My 3870 is able to do that, so i hope the 4850 is able to do it as well. Possibly looking into IceQ4 4850 but still looking whether they have the 1GB edition or not. 4870 is still way off budget right now smile.gif

Well, i do not mind whether its the OCed version or not. I could do it myself anyway. But is this available here in Malaysia? And how much would that cost? I am particularly interested in the HIS 4850 IceQ4 though but all i see around is the 512MB edition. Need to test out whether 512 is enough or not though.

I dont think you will have any trouble using ATI card on nForce mobo. Tried that before on my previous nForce4. No problem at all. But thats not the 4850.

It should be ok.. Just hope there isn't any incompatibilities prob..
Last time i had used Nforce2 mobo with ATI 9700pro it worked flawlessly..
But after that i had used a NF6100 mobo with an ATI X1600pro everything goes haywire..

as long as you have a pcie x16 slot, you have no problem with a pcie x16 graphics card.

Try looking for nforce mobo without the builtin gpu i think..
I really believe that when i used the NF6100 with my x1600pro the problem lies with resource conflict or sumthing..
The builtin GPU kept trying to overide my discret card.. But the weird thing is that when i used a Nvidia 7600GS the prob goes away..

you should buy the mainboard based on GIGABYTE INTEL P45 mainboard with ultra- solid capacitors. (Ultra- Durable 2)
or you can opt for cheaper ASUS P45 mainboard now!

Wah very impress and make me hand itchy to get the 4850GS already tongue.gif Anyway i also have try the psu calculator but the amount i get is more than 420w, so wonder how you get so little and i dun even overclock. Maybe i had a lot devices and peripherals la sweat.gif, wait result from jimmy bro to test for this PSU with 4850GS card then will consider. hmm.gif

@akachester, depend on ur usage lol cos i using HIS 4670 Turbo to pair with my 24 inch LCD also can play it well for a lot of games, maybe those games is not so hunger on the GC performance. And same with u, crysis is not my type also, i more in strategy games. smile.gif
