Hi all,

Not trying to stop the flow of the topic but curious if anyone successfully run any brand 4670 with a normal RM 45-50 450 W PSU?

Cheers,

Alvin

hmm, that i not sure..but then it does not really harm the card much (unless u're experiencing restarts and etc, due to not enough power, that will surely sorta kill the card)

4600 series card consume less than 75 watt ruing full load, but i do not whether 4670 is under it or not. http://ati.amd.com/products/Radeonhd4600/index.html

well, typical answers here would be "better to get a better PSU to ensure longer lifespan of the components"
i am getting poisoned by those words, now i am considering to get FSP Blue Storm II 500W PSU to go with my HD4670
*
Yes better PSU to ensure the longer lifespan, cos every component need this enegry source to start their engine smile.gif

It is not recommended to use an cheapo or so-called cap ayam psu due to its inconsistency of power supplied into the gc which might shorten the life of the gc. Get a better psu with at least a true power & higher efficiency.

4670 doesn't need a power cord to it... if i'm not mistaken so its using very low power...

Been away from PC hardwares for too long as they are killing my pocket but guess i am too tempted to perform some upgrades.

Just wondering here guys, is the 4870 better than the 3870X2? Do you guys have any links to the comparison between both cards?

Hmm... after the Catalyst 8.10 Beta drivers, the 3870X2 seems to be redeemed a lot.

Of course, there are still cases where it's unsatisfactory, but overall quite better. Scales nicely even in Crysis.
