I got a LA37R81B for 3.3k last June and quite happy with it. Its an AM01 panel and has excellent black level. Astro not so good on it but great with HD media streaming and gaming on ps3.

You might want to research the 37" S8 series first or at least view the tv first before purchasing. I did both.

I think RM2.5k for a 37" lcd is a bit too cheap even for an older model.

Thats why i went for it cause its pretty cheap.

I checked online and found that its not that widely available. Its a year old model, and its specs are :

But i checked the online price and found out that 37" are still pretty expensive, and for RM2k its a steal seeing that it has 1 year warranty. So.. i ordered it already tongue.gif. Hope i wont be disappointed >.<

the reason is the pricing
i'm just looking for a basic unit
if going for the 37lx80, i might just go all the way for the PV8

Howdy experts,

just want to get some feedback regarding which one is the best choice

usage is for mostly DVDs and perhaps BD, no astro, and normal TV viewing

1) Panny Plasma VIERA TH-42PV80H/HM
2) samsung plasma PS42A450P1
3) LG LCD full HD 42LG53FR

any inputs are most welcomed.

Panasonic 32LX800MK, going for RM2599 at those big shop (smaller shop should get cheaper), it's 100MHz, quite good quality.

The other day I was at Harvey Norman. The sales preson was trying to sell the Pana 32LX800MK with 100 MHz. He compared with a Sony 32" full HD model, the pana is much more better. So I think for small size like 32" or 37", no need to get full HD, instead get 100MHz only as this will improve moving action displayed.

Don't forget to check the panel time in case they try to pass a display model to you.

Different brand, different methods. Google is your friend biggrin.gif

For Samsung LCD :-

To enter the Service Menu, key in the following button combination in sequential order, not holding them down, tap one, then a very short pause, then the next, while the TV is in standby:

INFO + MENU + MUTE + POWER

Entering the service menu will reset your tv display settings to default. DO NOT mess around in there unless you know what you are doing as you can seriously f up your tv. Just check and exit.
