My viewing distance is only about 6 - 7 feet, is a Pana 42" PV80H ok or will it be too big?

QUOTE(law1777 @ Oct 22 2008, 12:07 PM) effect of sitting too near yes strained eyes. and also u can actually see more noises from the tv screen as u know those tvs are formed by pixels so if u sit too near u can notice them. if u have a lcd or plasma at ur home try go very near to it sure u can see many noises and slowly step back until u feel the tv is very clear and sharp.. oh, it seems that 42" is not a good idea then for my case ..... duh .... no plasma less than 42" ler .... damm. |

QUOTE(teikwing @ Oct 22 2008, 12:44 PM) it's totally up to you actually. my sofa is also around 7ft from my PV80H but somehow i still feel 42" is small for me. This is a relief, at least I have you to comfort me that 7ft is ok ... hehehe.Anyone else can share their viewing distance and how they feel? |

QUOTE(g5sim @ Oct 23 2008, 09:35 PM) Thanks pal. The reason I go for plasma is I want to view ASTRO and understand that ASTRO looks good on plasma. But it would seems that with viewing distance of 7-8 feet, 42" is too large. perhaps I should consider 32" or 37". In between Panasonic 32LX800MK 100 MHz and Sharp LC32A53M 100MHz, which one is better ah? Panasonic is 10,000:1 contrast ratio whereas Sharp is 7500:1. And it would seems that Panasonic consume less power at 151W whereas Sharp is at 262W. Any further comment? This post has been edited by ceteh: Oct 24 2008, 04:35 PM |

QUOTE(speedy3210 @ Oct 30 2008, 10:05 AM) I think got that auto brightness/contrast thing and 1-2 features more but insignificant. But I guess they (Pana/Desa) may most probably be at this reno/home fair at KL convention centre next 2 weeks. Might as well wait just that little while coz most probably they may have promo by then. When and what fair is that at the KL convention centre? The money saved can get you a few more BDs, hopefully. Regards. Added on October 30, 2008, 11:11 am QUOTE(msiathot @ Oct 29 2008, 10:53 PM) Well, I am glad that I made a wise decision with the 42-inch PV80. Excellent experience - 8.5 ft viewing distance in my bedroom. I guess it is my most exciting "investment" after switching to the Macbook. Hi friend, viewing distance of 8.5 feet ok for 42"? not too big?My living hall viewing distance is 7 - 9 feet, depending whether I sit on the floor or on sofa .... thought it is too big with 42". QUOTE(djdyks @ Nov 3 2008, 06:28 PM) So many models with so many specs and with so tempting prices ... The other day I was at Harvey Norman. The sales preson was trying to sell the Pana 32LX800MK with 100 MHz. He compared with a Sony 32" full HD model, the pana is much more better. So I think for small size like 32" or 37", no need to get full HD, instead get 100MHz only as this will improve moving action displayed.I'm looking for a Full HD LCD too, but really can't decide on a 32" or 37" ... aargh ... Samsung 5 series 32" around $2700 and Panasonic 37" at $3599 ... PLS HELP ! Any anymore tempting recommendations ? LG, Sony, Pioneer ... Or this -> Phillips 42" (Full HD or juz HD Ready ?) 42PFL7432/98 @ $3699 ? |
